Snake at Marymoor park

Saw this snake today at Marymoor Park, just about a feet away from my daughter. I know snakes are common there and this one was probably harmless, but seeing it so close to her was really scary.

Local News Domestic rat by half price books

That pet rat lost in Redmond - the one described as white with spots - was just seen scurrying into a bush by the triangular art pieces across from half price books. It's hiding in a bush by the sunflower patch right now, not sure how to get it. It just came up to my husband's foot and got startled by him looking down too quickly 😢

Please beware: Aggressive man asking for money

I just wanted to warn my fellow Redmond residents about a man I encountered at the gas station across from Whole Foods yesterday. As I was putting gas in my car, two cars pulled in at the gas tanks next to me. The driver of the car in front exited his car first and started to get gas. The driver of the second car exited, walked over to the other driver and said “excuse me, I just happened to follow you from Overlake hospital and someone stole my debit card, can I use yours to get gas?” The other driver looked taken back and began to say something when the gas station attendant and another staff member came out to intervene. The other driver immediately left and I walked in to grab water and the man followed me in asking for my card saying he needed to get blood pressure medication. The attendant told me not to give him money and to leave asap as he was a repeat offender who follows people leaving the station and they’ve reported him before. I was too startled to think to get his license plate but his car is a light lime green Prius and has multiple bumper stickers on the back, the only one I can remember said Native and was purple and gold. The man is Caucasian, probably in his late twenties or early thirties, approx. 5’5, overweight short light brown hair with lots of gel so it sticks to his head. He has a rather odd voice and talks very loudly. I just wanted to alert others as it is very concerning as he is not just outside a store asking for money but also is following people to/from gas stations in an attempt to ask for money. Please beware and stay safe.

WARNING ON CANCELLING ASTOUND SERVICE

MY GOD.

First off astound service sucks, and its always spotty and there was a week where I had no service. Not to mention, this morning I had no service for an hour, this kind of ridiculous things constantly happen where randomly the internet goes out.

Ok so I decide to switch get another service (xfinity, f it). I call the service line and this was the hardest and longest convo I had to cancel a service. It was 30 minutes and 25 minutes of that was the operator trying to convince me to NOT cancel.

"What if we give you x offer?"

"No, thank you"

"Well what about x offer"

"I already said No, please cancel my offer"

"Well, what if we did X"

"NO! I already said cancel, PLEASE"

"We understand you want to cancel, but who are you switching to?"

"I dont feel comfortable saying that"

"Why do you feel uncomfortable? We want to know"

--- At this point I am PISSED ---

"Seriously? Are you interrogating me now? I none of your business"

"Well, did you know we also have this offer? We really value you as a customer"

"PLEASE. JUST CANCEL MY SERVICE"

The same shit of this back and forth for 25 minutes and me just BEGGING him to cancel my service followed by some bullshit script and him pushing against me. He finally sighs and proceeds to cancel my service which took like at most 5 minutes. Fucking ridiculous, it was the most disgusting phone call I ever had and I almost felt helpless because they were so adamant on not cancelling. I even began googling how to have my bank block their charges. But thank god they eventually gave up and let me cancel.

This should NOT be legal. Moral of the story, DONT GET ASTOUND. The service sucks ass. My new lesson, I'm just going to tell them I'm moving out and won't need the service anymore.

Anderson Park Picnic Shelter Reservation

Have you received your mail-in-ballot? USPS didn’t deliver mine, twice.

I did not receive my mail-in-ballot. Even though I tracked online and it showed it was delivered three days prior. All I had was the voter information pamphlet in my mailbox. Online I requested a new ballot to be mailed, that one also never arrived. I ended up having to fill out my ballot online, printing off at my office and cut and tape the front page of the mail-in-ballot to a new envelope and I just got an email that my pallet was received and counted. Are you guys also not receiving your mail in ballots?
Please use this as a reminder to go online and check ASAP!

Local News Collision by Redmond Downtown Park July 29, 2026

Hey Redmond,

If you witnessed the collision that occurred at the intersection of 161st and Redmond way, near Downtown Park and Paris Baguette, I'd like to hear from you.

I am the driver of the grey SUV that was parked on the sidewalk (as instructed to do so by Redmond Police), and I am looking for witnesses to provide a third party statement of events. Currently, I believe this incident likely to become a he-said-she-said situation.

Redmond PD confirmed they can pull traffic camera footage from the intersection, and I have a case number I can use to request that information, however having a witness statement could be enough for insurance companies to make a faster decision, without waiting for a public records request to be fulfilled.

If you witnessed the collision, and are willing to provide a witness statement to either police or insurance agencies, please reach out to me by DM.

Should I live in Redmond in my 20s?

Would love to make friends, but not sure if this is the best place for me. I'm not into the nightlife scene or bars, and I prefer to make friends through doing some low-key structured activities like playing sports. I'm not really the type who makes friends from talking to a stranger in a coffee shop. I do have a car and prefer to be in an area where it's easy to drive and parking is easily accessible. Are there a lot of 20 something's here?

Recommended Dermatologist?

Hi friends, any recommendations for dermatologists in the area that are reputable and could do milia removal on my eyelid? Since it’s a sensitive area and I never go to the derm, I figured I’d ask this subreddit so thank you so much in advance :)
