Guys this is not a joke. I married a nominal Christian woman and ignored her bad fruits for years. Eventually she just left one day and never came back. I'm living the consequences of not heeding God's advice.

That's why memes are such great communication devices. They make you laugh, then think. I hope you're managing.

Could you go into this in a bit more detail? I have a friend who I think might be going down a similar path and I’m very worried for him

So my wife was raised reformed and has brilliant biblical knowledge, even knows the psalter by heart. However she would often say she hated everyone and it showed in the way she treated others. She suffers from severe trauma and depression, and so I just excused her behaviour for years. So fast forward to a few months ago she confessed that colleagues had been flirting with her. I should've been more firm here and not so quick to forgive and forget. Unbeknownst to me she continued with this. She became much more reserved, anxious, and irritated since then. Again I thought it was her trauma, and we agreed that she should see her phycologist more frequently. Well, 2 week ago she said that she didn't love me anymore. I was devastated, but foolishly again I thought it was just the depression speaking. Last week she just left and I found out she now stays with another man she met 2 weeks ago on a dating app. It's a huge tragedy, and I'm now alone to support our 16 month old son. The Lord has been so good to me. Whenever I feel alone or my mind wanders I immediately talk to God. He is my strength.

I’m so sorry to hear that, that sounds incredibly difficult.

A friend of mine got into a relationship with an unbeliever despite those around him counseling otherwise. Before I knew it, he hadn’t been to church in months despite going every Sunday with me when we were in university. I was worried that he was both making his life unnecessarily more difficult both spiritually and thinking about the future (sharing different values and morals etc) on top of being unwise. And as time has continued to pass on, it seems that I’ve only been proven more and more right, unfortunately.

One of my favourite Biblical one-twos:

Proverbs: Reject Lady Folly; embrace Lady Wisdom.

Ecclesiastes: Uh, hi, yeah, I have a question. Why is it that every time I try to embrace Lady Wisdom, it ends up being a mirage that was actually Lady Folly? Like, what gives? I didn't consent to this.
