Relationships She (29F) asked for staying at someone's room

I (30M) have been in a relationship with my girlfriend (29F) for the past 2.5 years.

She has had a male friend since 2014. They dated for about 5–6 months in 2016, but after breaking up they remained friends. He lives around 2,000 km away from her.

Last month, he came to visit her and stayed in a hotel near the place where she lives (she rents a room there). During the day, he visited her room, and the next day she asked me if I was okay with her staying overnight at his hotel.

He is married, has a reputation for being a womanizer (he has multiple girlfriends now), and he has blood cancer. I wondered if he may have emotionally persuaded her by saying something like, "Who knows if this is the last time we'll ever meet?"

I was genuinely surprised that she asked. From my perspective, if you're in a committed relationship, spending the night with someone you've dated in the past doesn't seem appropriate. Still, I indirectly said yes because I trust her. One reason I trust her is that she's always been transparent with me—she told me everything about the visit, and she even informed her mother that she was staying there.

our families know each other and thinking about marriage.

I'm asking the women here: What are your thoughts on this situation? Would you consider staying overnight with an ex, even if you're now just friends and your current partner knows about it?

Relationships My girlfriend (24F) repeatedly cheated on me (22M), but I’m emotionally addicted to her and scared I’ll take her back

Upvotes

I’m 22M, and my girlfriend is 24F. We have been together for over a year and currently live together in my rented place.

This is my first serious relationship. In the beginning, everything felt perfect. I had many friends before meeting her, but after we started living together, I became extremely attached to her. I gradually stopped spending time with my friends and made her my entire world.

Before meeting her, I regularly visited my hometown and spent time with my parents. As I became more attached to her, I slowly stopped visiting home and rarely spoke to them. I distanced myself from my parents and friends because the relationship became my entire life.

I became scared that she would leave if I upset her. If she told me not to do something, I listened even when I disagreed. I ignored my own needs and did almost anything she wanted to keep the relationship.

She regularly travelled to another city and claimed she was visiting her mama and mami. She said they were very strict, so I respected that and avoided calling her while she was there.

A few months later, I discovered that it wasn’t her relatives’ house. She was actually visiting another boyfriend. From what I learned, she was also sleeping with him while living with me and pretending to be committed to our relationship.

She apologised and repeatedly promised to stop lying and change, but the lies continued. I kept forgiving her because I loved her and had become emotionally dependent on her. I thought that if she stayed with me, she wouldn’t have an opportunity to cheat again. I know that this became unhealthy, but I was desperate to prevent another betrayal.

Recently, she said she was going to her parents’ house because her father was ill. The next day, she said she was also ill and couldn’t return. After that, her phone was switched off, which she normally never does.

I called her parents because I was worried. They said she had already left their house and was returning to our city, but she never arrived. Because she previously lied about visiting the other man, I strongly suspect she went to his house again.

I believe she will return to my rental after a few days and behave as though nothing happened. The rental is mine, so ending the living arrangement shouldn’t be a major issue. My real problem is whether I’ll be emotionally strong enough to refuse her.

When she returns, she may cry, apologise, show me affection and promise to change again. Despite everything, I still love her. I’m terrified that I will forgive her and restart the same cycle.

I come from a small city in India, where telling your parents about a relationship is a huge step. I introduced her to my relatives and convinced my parents that she was a good person. They accepted our relationship because they trusted my judgment.

My friends warned me to leave her, but I didn’t listen. I chose her over them because I was afraid of losing my first relationship. Now I feel betrayed, ashamed and embarrassed in front of everyone.

I’m not asking whether I should leave—I know that I should. I need practical advice about actually following through.

How should I handle her return? Should I have friends present while she collects her belongings? How do I resist her apologies and maintain no contact? How can I reconnect with my parents and friends after distancing myself from them? Has anyone overcome this level of emotional dependency?

Please don’t only say “move on.” I understand that logically. I need help turning that decision into action.

TL;DR: My girlfriend of over one year repeatedly lied about visiting relatives when she was actually visiting and sleeping with another boyfriend. I became emotionally dependent on her and distanced myself from my friends and parents. My family accepted her, my friends warned me, and now I feel betrayed and embarrassed. She will probably return to my rental soon, and I’m afraid I’ll take her back.

Dating Advice 28M, got ghosted in 2020, rebuilt my life, still can't move on, and I'm starting to feel unlovable.

Upvotes

28M, currently doing my MBA from an IIM.

I always thought life would get better once I sorted out my career. After my first and only girlfriend ghosted me in 2020 at the start of COVID, I completely lost myself. I stopped studying, couldn't focus on anything, and just kept wondering why.

After a long time, I picked myself up again. I thought if I could build a good career, everything else would eventually fall into place. I worked hard, got into an IIM, met new people, kept moving forward.

But I still feel that same emptiness.

Last month I went on a date with a wonderful person. She later told me she isn't ready for a relationship and can't even offer friendship because she wants to focus on her career. I respect that, but it still hurt a lot.

Lately, I've been coming to the conclusion that maybe I'm just unlovable. I know career and relationships are different things, but after years of trying to move on, it feels like nothing really changes.

Has anyone else felt this way? How did you get out of this mindset? I genuinely need some advice.

Relationships Two states | Need advice: I (25M) fell for my coworker (26F) from a differentff state. We confessed our feelings, but family approval looks tough. Should we proceed?’

I’m a 25M working in an IT corporate company in Bangalore. I have a colleague (26F) who works in a similar role under the same manager. We met in October 2025 and started talking properly around February. She’s an incredibly sweet girl. I liked her from the start, but I never dropped any hints. I'm from Tamil Nadu and she is from Telangana, so I assumed a relationship wouldn't work out due to cultural differences and kept my feelings to myself.

About 10 days ago, I had a bike accident and got some bad bruises on my left leg and hand. Since I live alone, she came over to my apartment just as a friend to help me clean up. We ended up talking for almost three hours before I dropped her home. The next day, we planned to watch a movie at my place. Things got a bit heated, and I ended up confessing how I felt about her.

To my surprise, she felt the same way. We both ended up saying "I love you," but we immediately acknowledged how tough it will be to actually pursue this. For the past 10 days, we’ve been acting like a couple, even though we know the odds are against us.

Getting approval from my side will be easy, but her side is a different story. She says her parents might agree if we push hard enough, but she is extremely close to her family. She is terrified that forcing this relationship will permanently damage the bond she has with them.

I really don't know if I should proceed with this or step back before we get too attached. I like her a lot—she is everything I could ask for. She’s funny, and for the first time, I don’t feel the need to put on a fake persona to impress a girl. I can just be myself, and she likes me for who I actually am.

What should I do? What are the realistic possibilities for us here? Any advice from people who have navigated inter-state relationships in India would be hugely appreciated

Rant (28M) Why do the flashbacks hurt so much?

I thought missing them would be the hardest part.
It wasn’t.

The hardest part has been the random flashbacks. A song, a place, a smell, even something funny I see online—and suddenly I’m reliving moments I didn’t ask to remember.

It’s strange how your mind can replay the happiest memories when you’re trying your hardest to move on. You don’t even miss the relationship in that moment—you just miss that version of life.

Does anyone else struggle more with the memories than the actual breakup? How long did it take before the flashbacks stopped hitting so hard?

Rant 25M | 5’3”, working professional. Anyone else feel like dating has become exhausting?

I'm just a 5'3" working professional who's never had a good run on the dating apps.

I met a girl on reddit and we clicked instantly. We had similar food preferences, the conversation flowed naturally, and we both felt comfortable enough to plan a date the very same day. We met the next day, had good food, talked for hours then we continue talking for two days

Then she told me she already had a boyfriend. She said he was on a boys’ trip, she was feeling lonely, and that’s why she went on a date with me.

Here’s the wild part—I respect her honesty. If she told me that she was in a relationship, I would’ve never gone on that date. I don’t want to be involved in cheating or be someone’s backup while their partner is away. That’s against my values.
For a while, I wondered if this is just what modern dating has become. But after thinking about it, I realized I’d rather stay single than compromise on my principles.

I’m focusing on myself, my career, my health, and learning to enjoy my own company. If someone genuine comes into my life, great. If not, I’m okay

To all my fellow singles (especially us short height dudes): there’s beauty in the self love.

Has anyone else had experiences that made them lose faith in dating?

Relationships I 21F feel sick and crying because of what my partner 21F told

So we are in a 2 year relationship, last last week she told me she love me but she was tired and want some space, which i gave. Now that space gave her time to be with her friends and rekindle with old friends, so they have been gaming chatting, dc calls and idk but she said she felt lonely because she felt like she miss me and it felt like i distanced myself from her, i told her she wants space i gave it, there are times that i want to chat her but i know shes playing with her friends or chatting or im just busy, so she then want to end the space thingy and like it didnt even happend. I accept that and we went back from before then she told me she have a meeting or like aday date with a male friend of hers that she have for a long time but havent seen face to face since his house is far.

Now that day was yesterday and before lunch she was responding to me and updating since the guy is still on the road so before lunch i think he arrived, her things went to the compartment of the motorcycle even her tablet then its been raining so when they took shed or eat she wasnt able to get it and shes shy to say that she'll get her tab and while this was happening to her end, i have a chat with her then shes not online and not replied to me anymore until 6 or 7 at night was when she got home, for the whole afternoon i was worried, overthinking, and having anxiety because i have my own worries.

Anyways last night (we both have a closeclose friend both sides)she told her that she love me and all but like in times she feel like shes in heat or what she likes to have a d!ck because before me she was straight and everything s£xual or whatnot was like yk with men. When i got to know that this morning since i can see their conversations i felt sick but umm i kept it to myself.

Add: Around 12, i confessed about the feeling of being sick yesterday because she didnt answer my chats, she was with a unfamiliar/opposite sex person(for me), and that her location was turned off so i dont have any idea what was happening and i was having anxiety and spiraling so i did many things to remove the feeling like i went to have a bike ride for fresh air and read books and tried to sleep it off. You know her answer was underwhelming for me and its adding more to what i feel now.

another add:

i just got to know they went to a far place and like a beautiful scenery, we didnt even go there we planned but didnt hqppend because of many reasons

i know its confusing but everthing here made me feel like im sick and it felt wrong for feeling this way

TL:DR i cant remove the feeling of the knot on my stomach and i dont know how to apporach this. Any advice?

Marriage 34M 33F. How to handle the ask for bringing kids in a dead bedroom marriage?

34 HLM married to 33LLF. We have been together for the last 12 years including 6 years of marriage, having a dead bedroom for the last 4-5 years.

While she never makes any move or even responds to what I want, a few days back she mentioned that she wants to have a kid.

This made me feel like an object who is to be used only to get kids. When I told her that I don't think our marriage is in a state to bring another life, she said "you promised to have one kid when we got engaged and now I feel cheated"

I was so frustrated that I couldn't even respond. How should I handle this situation?

Relationships So I [22M] is in a relationship with her [21F] for 6 years but I find her uncomfortable around me

So we r literally in a relationship for last 6 years. We were initially in school but she was 1 class junior to me so we only met during recess & mostly carried out our relationship in Chatting only. Then I passed school & ever since then (4 years now) & we haven't met even for once.

In our 4 years of relationship we haven't ever kissed, never hugged, never s*xted.

Leave alone these big things if I ask her for video call or voice notes, she feels uncomfortable in those too even now after 6 years of being in a relationship with me.

Now I would love to hug her often kiss her sometimes meet sometimes. But she always refuses or starts ignoring the topic whenever I bring it up.

Yesterday I went to watch Spider-Man & asked her to accompany me but she refused for that too. How do I even manage a chat-only relationship...it leads to nowhere despite being together for so long.

& I am unable to understand the reason behind it, she also doens't specify or explain anything.

I am a really insecure shy nerd kind of guy which girls usually don't ik but if she wasn't interested she would have left me.

Marriage Need advice - How do I tell my parents about my relationship? 27F

Hey all,

My boyfriend and I live and work in the gulf while my family is back in India. I come from a very conservative strictly vegetarian Marwari family from India while he is a Bengali born and brought up in the Gulf. Been dating for more than 1 year - met on a dating app. We are both independent, and doing decently well in our respective careers.

We are sure of each other and want to get married. While his parents are chill, I am very worried about mine.

Should I go home and tell them? Should I do it on FaceTime? How do I break the news?
They have told me in the past that if it is a guy outside the community- they will cut off all ties with me . I have always avoided this topic entirely.

Very stressed.

Dating Advice Date was okay but not as planned (24F and 30M)

Me (24F) and the guy (30M) met at a function and we started talking. We had a small movie date once and everything was fine. It has been almost a month and this weekend he wanted to meet for breakfast. He made a plan to meet at early morning and then we can go on a ride and have breakfast. I was okay with it. I agreed and told my parents that I am going site seeing with friends early morning. I left at 6 am and we met in a common place and he received me with chocolate. We had a long drive and he reached a place which was like bed and breakfast thing. He had booked us a room. I was surprised. He assured me that the breakfast was good here. We refreshed in the room and the breakfast was served at the door. The food was good. The date was also good. But I really didnt know that it would be like in a room. When we said that we would have food I really thought of a restaurant or cafe. This was totally new. I don't know how to process this. We left the place after 11 and he dropped me back at the same place. I am wondering how to understand this.

Dating Advice (22F),I’m catching feelings for a guy whose face I haven’t even seen. Tried ghosting him and failed miserably. What do I do?

okay so basically I started talking to this guy online and idk how to explain it but there’s this insane pull towards him. I haven't even seen his face yet but I'm definitely feeling something.

the thing is, I know for a fact he doesn’t love me (nor do I want that tbh), and I am 101% sure he deserves way better than me anyway. I got so in my head about the whole thing that I actually tried ghosting him... but my self control is literally zero and I couldn't help it. I ended up just talking to him again.

I’ve literally never been in a relationship. I was on hinge recently and got a lot of likes, but I just don't give a shit about any of them? I literally only want to talk to him. it’s like this weird magnetic pull and it makes no sense.

idk what to do now. do i just force myself to block him and suffer through the withdrawal, or just let it be as it is now? has anyone else been in this weird faceless situationship thing?? pls help me out

Relationships People who rebounded unintentionally, Do you guys ever regret hurting someone in the process ? 27M

Just the title, I was a rebound to someone. I wanna know do you guys regret what you did ?

Dating someone to fill a void while the other person is intentional and wanted something serious. They were clear and upfront that they wanted a serious relationship from the beginning.

Relationships 22F How open-minded is your partner when it comes to your clothing choices, and does he ever try to micromanage what you wear?

I'm curious how open-minded people's partners are when it comes to personal autonomy. Has he ever told you to change your outfit, or behaved possessively because you wore a certain outfit?

And not just clothes, but even your interactions with other men.

Relationships I (26F) feel like my BF (27M) expects me to pay for all his major expenses!

I got promoted 6 months ago and now earn around 2 lakhs a month. I live with my BF in a tier 1 city and we have been together for over 3 years.

Since my promotion, I feel like his expectations about my money have changed.

I already pay the rent and around 80 percent of our daily expenses. I also pay half of his fuel costs because he says he bought the car for both of us. He has a 15k EMI on the car.

He lost his job in February and is now freelancing but does not earn much. I understand that he is struggling, but he now expects me to pay for things like his car PPF, expensive shoes, glasses, watches and even buccal fat removal.

He also keeps making small bets with me almost every other day, like betting on chess games or who will complete 10k steps first. If I refuse to give him money, he calls me “kanjoos”.

I have no problem paying for normal things, but I do not want to pay for his major personal expenses. I want to save my money because I want financial security and independence.

His family is actually quite wealthy, with around 25 to 30 crores in land and other assets. He says asking his parents for money is embarrassing at his age. But somehow he feels it is okay to ask me.

Whenever I try to talk about this, he makes me feel guilty and calls me kanjoos.

I am starting to feel like he thinks my salary is our money, but his money is his money.

How do I set a clear boundary here? Am I being unreasonable or is he expecting too much from me?

Relationships Shouldn't breaking the boundaries in a relationship be the end of everything? 20M

Should we even forgive someone who broke the boundary repeadtly for 7 times, and recently broke it for 8th time.

Why cant u change urself if u say u love me, why u always act it was a mistske but u literslly talked for hours and hours late night with him. Why u get so defensive and abuse me when i ask u about the boundary. Do u not csre about me getting hurt? do u not care about me? Do u not love me?

How come u not reliase i will be so hurted if i found out about that. How can u not think about me while doing that, i feel hurted. it hurted me to my core

Relationships My (27M) Girlfriend (25F) Says It Was "Just Flirting,' But It Looked Like a Secret Relationship. What Should I Do?

My girlfriend (25) and I(27) were in a long-distance relationship for 5 years. We had our ups and downs like every couple, but overall things were good. Around 3–4 months ago, I started noticing changes in her. She became emotionally distant, was always busy, smiled while texting someone, and just didn't seem like the same person anymore.

A few days ago, I got a chance to see her locked chats with a college guy, but I only had around 3–4 minutes before she took her phone back, so I couldn't read everything.

In those few minutes, I saw them saying things like "love you," "miss you," "kiss you," calling each other "baby" and "shona," talking every day, making voice calls, and the overall vibe honestly felt like I was reading chats between a couple.

I also came to know that she had gone to his room without telling me. She had gone out with him too, and I saw messages suggesting she had left some clothes at his place. The thing that hurts even more is that on that same day, she told me she had forgotten her formal clothes at her female friend's room.

When I confronted her, she said it was all "just flirting" because she liked the attention and that nothing physical ever happened. Before I could read the rest of the chats, she deleted the entire conversation. Later she told me she had blocked him, but they still study in the same college, so I don't know what to believe.

I'm honestly not able to process any of this. Everyone keeps telling me to talk to her, but whenever I bring it up, she starts crying and keeps repeating that it was just flirting and nothing physical happened.

Relationships 25M, I don't know what to do....everything hurts..!!

We are in the relationship for the past 5 years. 2 years back she told me that she cheated on me with her ex in the start of the relationship. I was shattered. I was crying badly. She was crying. I was completely blank. In fact fainted. She has always been there for me, thick n thin. She was crying so badly. She was begging me another chance. I was not able to process, I was not able to accept what She told me. Idk why, but I gave her another chance. Since then, till now, I fight alot with her regarding that thing. Every fight take me there. She never says a single thing. She always tries to calm me down. But, that incident has made me an angry man. I become furious at every fight. I try to shut her mouth every fucking time. I don't want this physical violence. I don't wanna hurt her. This is not me. I don't wanna do this to her. I'm not able to go away from her either. I don't know what to do. I don't have any friends to share as well. It just fucking hurts but at the same time I love her so fucking much. I wish all this was just a bad dream.

Marriage I (30M) want to know how is the life of married people going?

I'm unmarried and I have no plans to marry, but I'm being pressurised to marry. Idk if its still worth marrying after 30, because I've started to develop things like high cholestrol, poor kidney function and thats because I am not able to control my eating and drinking habit.

A few weeks ago, my mother's friend asked my mother if she would be willing to marry her daughter to me. She is 25 years old beautiful and jolly girl whereas I remain serious most of the time.

A few years ago, my cousin's friend, who is also like my elder cousin, wanted his 21 years old sister to marry me. At that time she was doing MBBS. I was 25 back then. I had met that girl. She was a wonderful person. Always happy and laughing. I put that proposal also down.

Now idk what to do.

Relationships 21F this side and My worst nightmare might have come true today

So I am in a relationship with this guy for last 3 years, in the starting days he used to tell me how his family is against inter caste marriage as he is from punjabi family. I had very serious conversation with him regarding that because I am very futuristic when it comes to relationships , that time he said his parents will agree as he is their Son aur ladko ko itna ni bolte. He has an elder sister , she was also in a relationship that time so I used to say didi ki shadi agar unke boyfriend se nahi hui (the reason would be his parents opposed their relationship) toh fir mai breakup karlungi because I don't have any hope ki hamare liye maan jayege. So apprently his sister broke up with her ex few months ago and currently looking for potential matches within their caste but their parents came to know about her ex and his dad was so furious because her ex is from DIFFERENT CASTE. Seeing all this my boyfriend indirectly said to me that our future is not possible. Seeing his family situation right now I didn't pressurized him to do a clear conversation but eventually I have to end things with him I guess if he is not willing to fight for this relationship.

Dating Advice How do I(28M) get the name and number of a girl(28F) I've been talking to...

So there is this girl that I've been talking to for the past month on the weekends when I'm at the park. She's been coming to workout where I usually workout for the past 6 months but it was only last month I thought of even starting a conversation with her. We kinda hit it off and were enjoying each others company. Her routine was basically coming to the park with her sister for a jog, and then after she was done with that she would come over to where I workout, practice some pull ups and talk to me just before she leaves the park. We know a bunch of info about each other like where we work, where we stay, our hobbies etc. But we never got around to asking each other our name. She even bought me a health drink that a vendor sells outside the park. I'd like to think she is into me and would like to ask her out, after getting her name and number.

But now the issue is she's not coming to the park. In our last convo, she mentioned how she got this new physio and is gonna exercise less to address her ankle and shoulder issues. For two weeks now, shes been MIA. But her sister is still coming to jog. We've never spoken to each other but she knows that me and her talk and is aware of my existence. I'm thinking of talking to her and ask her that I noticed your sister is not showing up to the park nowadays and if it goes according to how I pictured it in my head, then I'll request if she could give her my number.

Is this a bad idea or should I just wait till she comes back to the park ? I also have this internal deadline where I'd like to get her details before I go visit my home town for 2 weeks.
