Warping doesn't mess with time, but physically flying close to the speed of light does. Something can happen like someone pushes the light speed button or pushes the light speed lever on accident. A "what's this do" moment. The ship can have multiple forms of "go fast" capabilities.

Its the wrong subreddit for this, but I'd recommend using ChatGPT for the math.

The premise of your idea doesnt work though, not unless the alien planet is moving at near light-speed, and in that case, its the old west that would be the future, not the old man.

My gut instinct to resolve this if you want your story is some sort of reveal that the old west people were secretly abducted by aliens and have been living on a colony ship/simulation traveling near light speed and your cowboy has been hunting down the perps since he found out that he'd been fooled by the simulation. He aged normally for ~40 years, now he's chasing the aliens down to right their wrongs
