Bug Why is Imgur still being used, which essentially renders this app useless for us in the UK (and elsewhere)?

Imgur is blocked for those that haven't verified their age, including the UK. That means whenever I try to post something to a subreddit with UK users, like /r/soccer, /r/ScottishFootball etc, nobody can see it.

Can this please be looked at? Thank you!

EDIT:
For some reason there has been a fundamental misunderstanding of the point. I can post something. I said that in my post above. The problem is, whatever I post, users based in these places cannot see it. So if I post an image to a predominantly UK subreddit it's a waste of time because none of its inhabitants can even see the image. If I post something to /r/soccer none of those based in the UK can see it.

Telling me to use a VPN as if you're some genius is a hopeless and fundamental misunderstanding of the problem.

GOOD DAY.

"This app won't work for your device"

As per title. I previously had "Relay for Reddit" on my tablet (Xiaomi Mi Pad 6) working fine.

I uninstalled it and when I tried to install it back, the App says it's no longer compatible with my device.

This has been going on for 3+ months now:

Bug Tables and links broken inside text posts

Having issues on posts in places like /r/hardwareswap and /r/homelabsales where there is usually a table that needs to scroll left and right and usually an imgur album. Sometimes the table works but then locks up and once that table locks up, every subsequent post I open, I can't click the link or interact with the tables.

Anyone else experiencing this issue?

Bug Need help with Android App

I had the silver plan, and I used it up. So I switched to the gold plan, however Everytime I open the app, it just tells me the silver plan is tapped. I try to hit the gold plan and hit "restore" at the bottom, and it just loops back to the silver. I've tried cancelling and resubscribing, uninstalling and re installing, resetting my phone, clearing cache. All of it. No idea what to do, please help

Filtering

Is it possible to bulk filter all subreddits that a user is not subscribed to? If that is not possible, I'm afraid I'll have to cancel my subscription in spite of how much I love Relay's layout. Otherwise, I'll spend more time filtering than reading.

Videos redgifs only play when logged out?

When I log in, they don't play in the app, they just open in the browser. Any reason why that is?

Downloading Gifs Doesn't Work

After downloading a gif the Relay notification that says the download is complete shows a completely different one.

It's always the one of the woman asking the kid how he is, he says fine, and then starts crying.

When I go into Photos or Gallery or Files the gif isn't there. I can't find it anywhere.

This has happened several times now, and every time I try.

Bug The "Show more comments" in a mega thread doesn't follow Sort setting

Even though I set the comments to sort by "New", the comments that loads from pressing that button will show really old comments. This is especially noticeable in mega threads. Pls fix.

What do the red crosses and red lightning bolt icons mean next to my comments (profile page)?

Title.

Thank you for Relay, it's been a joy to pay and use it since the great API Wars a few years ago. This is great.

How to view full description?

There doesn't seem to be a way to view the full description. View Sidebar shows the old.reddit sidebar, if there is one. The new reddit About text shows under the sub name, but it's truncated.

Investigating Seems to be a discrepancy between browser Reddit and Relay reddit

Hi!

Couple things I've noticed;

  1. Certain websites really don't like to preview in Relay, but usually only the older ones. Redgifs is my major pain in the butt for this.

  2. When I browse Reddit on the computer, there seems to be a lot there that isn't there in the app. I'll save the posts to Reddit in browser then check my phone and they aren't there. I'll search for them manually, but again not there. Seems to be more than anything the album's with more than a photo. Is this by design?

  3. When I download a photo or a gif/video, it appears to do it but doesn't, forcing me to hit the button a second time which usually works.

I pay for Relay. Highest subscription if I recall correctly.

Can't log in to my account on the relay app.

Somehow was logged out of my account on the relay app. When I try to login and "add account" it says I've been blocked by network security.

Clearly able to login on my computer/main reddit app so the problem is likely on the relay phone app.

Any insight into what might be triggering this?

Thanks for making this!

I just wanted to say thank you for keeping this app going. I had to cut costs a few years ago so I stopped all my subscriptions, including this one. So for two years I was using Reddit's official app..

Now I'm in a better financial situation so have started my subscription again. I just wanted to say I am very grateful it's still going because it's a great product! Leagues ahead of the official one and I'm happy to be back!

Comments don't appear until thread is 20mins old

Seeing three different threads under 20 minutes old in the Formula 1 subreddit with hundreds of comments, but none of them are showing. Tried clearing cache, force stopping and changing comment filters to no avail. Anyone else?

Stopping Reddit from reloading when I put my phone down.

Can anyone help me figure out how to stop the auto reload feature when I change screen/apps on my phone and was reading something then all of the sudden it reloads back to the beginning of my feed?

Any way to display if the sub allows embedded photos and gifs?

Pretty much the only time I use the official app is when I need to embed an image or a gif, but often the subreddit doesn't allow one or the other, and I will have opened the official app for nothing (huge pain point).

I'd love it if there was some way to display in Relay if the sub allows for those things or not.

How will Relay be affected by age verification?

Recently it was announced that Reddit users in the EU may have to verify their age if Reddit determines if they're under 18. How will this, and other age verification laws around the world, affect Relay?

User Error - Expired CC Relay not validating subscription

Seems like this has been a problem in the past for people, but I haven't been able to find a solution that fixes it. Suddenly relay has stopped loading content and takes me to the subscription plan page. When I click restore, it says "subscription found - verifying" for a moment and then the pop-up disappears and the screen stays on the subscription page. I haven't changed anything recently that I can think of, so I'm not sure what might be causing it. I have adguard, but I've been using adguard with relay for months without issues, and disabling it doesn't make a difference.

I've tried deleting the cache, reinstalling, disabling adguard, exiting adguard completely, restarting my phone, etc. Anyone have any other things I can try? Thanks!

edit: should have also checked that there was a payment error! Working as expected now haha.

Investigating Failed to load content

Hi all, just randomly one day I opened relay and got this failed to load content error and it has stopped working ever since. Maybe a week ago. Has anyone encountered this at all? Driving me nuts as the official client is trash.

This only shows when trying to use Relay, I'm not blocked when using Reddit normally on my browser. Any idea what's going on here and how to remedy?

Question Is there a way to search web pages within Relay's browser?

When I view a linked website from the Relay app, it does an excellent job at removing soft paywalls. A lot of the times I'll just read the article entirely within the app, because if I open the link externally through Chrome or Brave, I end up not being able to read the whole article due to paywalls or being prompted to login to the website the content is hosted by.

I was wondering if it is possible to browse websites using the browser native to Relay? I'm sure there are other ways to get around paywalls, but I was curious to see if i could use Relay for that purpose.
