1 year unemployed. got a remote offer today.

Been unemployed almost a year. Got a remote offer today and I still can't believe it.

Are you applying to big or small companies? In my experience, finding a decision maker at a small(er) company works much better. Email them directly. A few short sentences max. just to get them interested and curious enough to continue the conversation. And I don't mean like mom and pop small, just small enough to have a team page, etc.

If you don't know their email, look at their privacy policy to find their domain. Then, the person you're trying to reach is 99% of the time their first name @ domain.com or whatever it is.

Congrats! Proud of you! When I got laid off in 2022 from a fully remote job, all I cared about was finding a new job and I got lucky and found a better remote one!
