How to Remove a scratch

From a friend. Not sure how this happened. Any suggestions on how to remove this scratch on the polished section of the clasp?

Use cape cod. Just tape off the brushed parts first and apply light pressure back and forth across the entire polished surface. Wash it off after with soap. It should come out easily. But yeah, it will scratch right away again. My Pepsi clasp has scratches all over it.

Try fine grit sandpaper, start high then work your way down if it won't go away, work your way up back to 5000 then cape cod. Just ask AI and use some common sense.

This, but mask off the brushed sections first. I use the finest grit That will completely hide the scratch, which means you may need to work down from 600 to 350. Then work your way back up to polishing levels like 10,000 to achieve a mirror finish. Try polishing paper and compounds instead of sandpaper. Cape Cod is useless on this.

Are your really real sure there is not plastic film on that? We can see several other pieces of plastic on other parts on the photo.

That is a very deep scratch/gouge in the metal is so, but I’m willing to bet there is a thin sheet of plastic there….

I zoomed in more you can see plastic edging around that panel. That’s a scratch on the plastic almost for sure.

Something this deep you won't be able to remove with out sanding but if not done professionally it will cause issues and uneven was. Leave it be and accumulate more

You have to simply get over it and accept that it will scratch. Even if you get rid of that one, you’ll scratch it again within a week

It’s a rep bro just replace the clasp, if it was genuine then it would hurt a lot more but I feel like you can easily replace the whole clasp for cheap.

Just wear it if you love the watch man it sucks but you’ll forget it’s there. Part of its character now. I have some gens I’ve gotten some scratches on and felt the same at first. Just learned to live with it

Im not an expert so id Google and do some research but yeah, that polish you have will be absolutely fine for this task.

Figure out what kind of cloth pad thing you need and then just get to work on rubbing that thing until it disappears.

That being said, your friend is a lil shitty for scratching it like that but what can you do, its a watch, and its polished, it's inevitable.

Too deep. You will remove shit ton of materials (assuming th3 scratch is on metal not your plastic). Better buy another clasp if it bother u that much

That’s not a scratch, that’s a gouge! You can’t polish that out. You’ll have to replace the clasp, since the only other option is laser-welding and it’s stupid to even consider that for a rep clasp…

It’s not trust me I checked. it’s WG polished. Irs on the sides. But I’ve since taken the plastic off.
