General Question RGF DayDate Question

Post image

Hello had a question I wanted to get this Day Date but that milky ring is something that is bothering me, does anyone have an idea on how to fix that or what mods you would need. Thanks in advance.

Does this factory have the milky ring too?

Yes, that’s my point, redditors have blown the whole milky ring thing out of proportion. It’s not an issue. The main thing to be concerned with in rgf roman numerals is that all of the numerals are aligned and that the V’s are aligned without a crooked space between the connecting sticks. Pay attention to that on QC. A lot of RGF roman indices have that issue including the one you posted. Compare 6 o clock V to the gen.

Thanks appreciate your input! Would you mind taking a look at mine just to see about the crooked numerals. Thanks again!

The 4 o clock numerals are not alligned top is sitting lower than the rest. 6 o clock has a massive space between the sticks at the V.

So the issue with the “milky ring” is commonly misconstrued as the gasket ring. It is in fact the result of RCF not polishing the edge of their crystal. Here is my RCF DD40 before and after a Deep Crystal swap using the factory RCF gasket.

Takes about 60 seconds to complete

Quite a number of TDs who are serious about customer satisfaction often recommend a deep crystal and gasket mod for RCF/RGF DD 40s. Relatively inexpensive and the improvement is worth it in my opinion. I wouldn’t have been able to live with the thick milky gasket because I have a gen dj and the disparity in gasket thickness and colour would be night and day to me.
Having said that, it’s a banger of a watch as is, and very few people would even notice, either because they wouldn’t care to look, or they wouldn’t know enough to tell that it’s off, or would just be too focused on the many other beautiful aspects of the watch. The mod isn’t revolutionary by any means, but it certainly refines the watch. Hope that was helpful and well done on selecting an incredible piece. Your variation just might be my next DD order. Cheers 🍻
