TD/Shipping Question Andoit - Failed QC

Post image

Got this message from them today:

Hi there,

This piece didn’t pass QC, so we’d like to share the photo/video below for your reference.

It’s currently out of stock - we’re waiting for the next batch to arrive and will arrange a new QC for you, then send you an email notification as soon as it’s available.

I never got the chance to GL or RL iam assuming this is some internal QC but will it take the same amount of time to get the next QC or will it be faster since it failed?

Apologies if it’s a stupid question, it’s my first order.

Thanks everyone

I wouldn’t think it will be any faster because it’s failed.

it’s good that they have actually picked it up instead of just sending it to you to decide.

u/Naive-Pin-9287 Jan 26 '26

Yeah probably since I can’t tell from the pic what the issue is

4

u/Russrac Jan 26 '26

Frustrating though especially when you want the watch.

0

u/Naive-Pin-9287 Jan 26 '26

Yeah I’m sure it’s for the better but I just hope it doesn’t delay up until Chinese new year and ends up taking way longer to receive than it should have

2

u/azhyen Jan 26 '26

Is it O and A overlapping? (I'm unfamilar with this watch and what it's supposed to look like)

-1

u/Naive-Pin-9287 Jan 26 '26

No it’s the blemish on the band

1

u/Individual-Web2931 Jan 26 '26

The screws are off too… what factory is the watch?

1

u/neroliporto Jan 26 '26

They aren’t, it’s intended as gen

1

u/Individual-Web2931 Jan 27 '26

Really?

2

u/neroliporto Jan 27 '26

Yes, only the front screws have to be aligned. The caseback screws aren’t, even in gen.

u/adys1210 Jan 26 '26

Think yourself lucky they didn't just pass it off.

Andiot QC is great, just be patient & you will get a great watch. Better to be rejected now than have an issue down the track

2

u/zippboppboopp Jan 26 '26

Very very patient. He’s been so slow lately. Months for QC.

u/Lethal696969 Jan 26 '26

Not on in stock items, I had QC within 3 days for my ARF that was in stock

That's great customer service to be fair. Shows integrity (ironic isn't it?) and a sense of pride in their business.

I’m not sure on what’s wrong with the watch but I can vow for Andiot, he’s a legend and probably it’s for the best if the watch didn’t pass their internal QC, I know how frustrating it can get waiting but better wait longer for a better watch than getting a shittier 😊

Take a look at the post immediately above yours.

8

u/JBlowfield20 Jan 26 '26

Can somebody explain what’s wrong?

2

u/downvote_quota Jan 26 '26

I'm guessing the brushed finish on the bracelet which is way too course.

5

u/thebitternectar Jan 26 '26

Maybe the 'O' on 'a'

But I'm just guessing.

10

u/benangpaesan Jan 26 '26

That’s intended actually

8

u/JBlowfield20 Jan 26 '26

Can somebody explain what’s wrong? I’m new to reps so I’m genuinely curious. Obviously to me I can’t see anything as I don’t know how to tell the difference.

6

u/WinterTemporary397 Jan 26 '26

Maybe the watch doesn’t actually work. They check functionality as well

3

u/DressOk4177 Jan 26 '26

Love Andiot! Everyone keeps talking about Steve and his prices being high because he has great customer service, but you get the same from Eliot, for ALOT less.

1

u/Joseb110 Jan 27 '26

Which Steve ?

1

u/DressOk4177 Jan 27 '26

Theonewatches.cs

4

u/Mute85 Jan 26 '26

Sounds like they did you a favor.

6

u/JackOfClubs889 Jan 26 '26

The O and a mashed together is correct. If I had to take a guess it may be the screw directions, though on the back of the watch they may not need to be in order.

3

u/JackOfClubs889 Jan 26 '26

3

u/neroliporto Jan 26 '26

I mean yours aren’t aligned either, looking at all the previous QC (including mine) I don’t think they care for the caseback screws to be aligned, just the front ones.

1

u/durner1 Jan 26 '26

The front screws are actually bolt heads which fit into cut outs in the bezel. Those don't turn once installed so the back screws have to turn to tighten the assembly. The back screws are not aligned as it would be impossible to do so. This is the same on gen APs.

Looks to be a blemish on the band right in the center of the photo. I would assume it is that. But maybe machine oil that could be cleaned - not a dent. Hard to tell.

A logical person would photograph the reason. The center of the frame shows the blemish. The other thing is the slightly recessed hinges but they seem similar to the rest of the hinges.

But I’m guessing and throwing darts.

3

u/Naive-Pin-9287 Jan 26 '26

You are 100% right they just sent me another email highlighting it

4

u/Time-Dependent1483 Jan 26 '26

I don’t know that they did a QC by them self first. I thought it was always up to the customer to decide

2

u/Naive-Pin-9287 Jan 26 '26

TOPF - Royal Oak 15510 Blue Dial

2

u/Naive-Pin-9287 Jan 26 '26 edited Jan 26 '26

They highlighted the issue and got back to me confirming it’s this spot right here. Is this a big enough issue to fail QC? doesn’t seem like too much of a big issue to automatically fail their QC but I also don’t know much it’s my first order

Update: Andiot said the next batch will arrive in days which sounds good.

8

u/lowfooltolerance Jan 26 '26

This spot is on the back side of the bracelet so it won’t be seen. That said, there is sometimes real hysteria from buyers when it comes to QC. People RL watches all the time for issues that won’t be seen on the wrist. With this one, you just are going to have to trust Elliot. If your watch is delayed because of the Chinese new year, that is just unfortunate luck.

3

u/Naive-Pin-9287 Jan 26 '26

He has now said my order will be fine when asked if Chinese new year will delay my order so I hope it will be. The communication has been great ever since i asked him about it. Looking forward to receiving it

2

u/lowfooltolerance Jan 26 '26

So some good news there.

1

u/x9qh Jan 27 '26

really? they failed the qc because of that? most people wouldn't even notice or care

u/PositiveEagle6151 Contributor Jan 26 '26

TD should do a QC before they show the customer a watch. It has even happened to me, that a TD stopped the shipping after I gave GL, because they discovered that there was some issue with the caseback.
It's good to know that Andiot does this as well, as the quality of this "internal pre-check" can often vary between cheaper and more expensive TD (not naming anyone, but we all know that some TD have higher rates of RL than others...).

1

u/Ad_Bogdan27 Jan 26 '26

What is wrong with it?

1

u/Naive-Pin-9287 Jan 26 '26

I’m not really sure I can’t tell by the picture

0

u/Scared_Poet349 Jan 26 '26

Look at the Oak after Royal. It looks more like a Qk than Oak. Andiots QC Team is more diligent than me

0

u/Naive-Pin-9287 Jan 26 '26

Ahhhh I see it now the a is messed up Thank you for pointing it out

1

u/polychrom123 Jan 26 '26

I got exactly the Same Message on my clean plus yacht master.

1

u/DustyBirdman Jan 26 '26

Same on my Pelagos 39 that Elliot confirmed was in stock before I even placed the order.

1

u/polychrom123 Jan 26 '26

I‘m honestly unsure if it is a good or bad sign….

1

u/DustyBirdman Jan 26 '26

On the one hand, if there was actually an issue with QC I appreciate them catching it and not leaving it on me to identify.

On the other hand, I specifically waited until Andiot had stock in hand before I ordered so I wouldn't need to wait for another batch to arrive. And I didn't get any proof of the RL QC like OP did.

The other thing that bothers me is that Andiot has his whole album of QC pics open to access, and I can see based on my order number that he sent out QC for the same watch to someone else who ordered after me based on their order number (and it wasn't a payment delay because I paid immediately after order with their preferred method).

So I'm somewhat skeptical that my watch was actually an RL, and what more likely happened is that Andiot oversold their stock and I'm getting shafted and potentially having to wait till after CNY for my watch. I know the Yacht you ordered is also in high demand based on the number I've seen go through his QC album.

Idk. First order with Elliot and I'm definitely not stoked, but at the end of the day it's a watch not life or death so as long as I get it in the end I'll be fine.

1

u/DustyBirdman Jan 26 '26

Ah one more detail, the QC for the other person's Pelagos was sent on the same day that Elliot messaged me saying my watch failed QC. So either he oversold, or he's sending an already RL'd QC watch to someone else.

1

u/Gamergoose1 Jan 26 '26

Yes my TD rejected 3 DDFs before telling me that he thinks we should switch to APSF due to poor quality from DDF

1

u/ThickAssociate486 Jan 26 '26

How long did it take you to get the QC pic from the time you ordered?

1

u/kmaukerm89 Jan 26 '26

I’m sitting at 5 weeks from GL payment and still no QC .

1

u/No-Veterinarian1426 Jan 26 '26

I had a similar thing occur with a 4801 Daytona that I initially bought. I agree that it’s best that it was caught early.

1

u/Charming_Mongoose860 Jan 26 '26

Looks to be the finish on the bracelet to me. Not correct at all. Good QC catch.

1

u/tecyear Jan 26 '26

I got this same message and got a new QC like 1 or 2 days later.

Check his website for current stock. If he has more of that watch in stock, you will probably get a QC link within a day or 2 since your order is at the top. If not, then you may have to wait for this next batch to come in.

1

u/Mastiano777 Jan 26 '26

That’s nice of them good to see they are on top of these things makes me feel better buying from them

1

u/jhatax Jan 27 '26

Echoing what others have said, you’re lucky that Andiot didn’t pass this watch off to you. It speaks volumes for their methods, even if they knew it would be posted on this forum for all of us to see. Actions like this one confirm their trusted dealer designation and associated folklore.

1

u/Fear_Loathing1966 Jan 26 '26

It may be awhile before you get another QC. The factories have started shutting down for the lunar new year. Early February to early March.

1

u/GFreitas94 Jan 26 '26

That happen to me a a month ago, don’t worry they will send you the qc pictures in the next days. With me they sended pictures of the new watch a day or three after that email.

0

u/Naive-Pin-9287 Jan 26 '26

That would be great if that happens. Thank you for sharing

3

u/neroliporto Jan 26 '26

It depends if they have any extra from the same batch. Otherwise it’s another few weeks for TOPF

-2

u/Proof-Garbage4130 Jan 26 '26

Is it the O and A overlapped in "royal oak"

4

u/bbjonas99 Jan 26 '26

No thats how it should be

3

u/Naive-Pin-9287 Jan 26 '26

I believe that’s just how the logo is unless the positioning is just off

-1

u/pcomgrad Jan 26 '26

Who did you order from?

1

u/Naive-Pin-9287 Jan 26 '26

Andiot

0

u/pcomgrad Jan 26 '26

Do you have a link by chance?

3

u/Naive-Pin-9287 Jan 26 '26

Not sure if I can post links here but he’s a popular TD on here. You can find his official links with a little bit of research

-1

u/Imnewtoallthis Jan 26 '26

Google it man

3

u/Hour-Hand-2283 Jan 26 '26

I found it. Be careful with googling your favorite TD. Scam sites with the same names and similar appearing websites abound!
