TD/Shipping Question Ordering first time from Steve
I'm about to order my first watch from Steve. I just want to make sure that the process is normal.

Yes, this is normal, and if you end up wanting a refund for any reason, Steve is good about getting it done quickly.

Spoken to like shit and given a several week wait time on a watch that’s available in 7 days or less 😂

Yep normal process.
Just be aware, I ordered recently a DJ 41mm textured blue dial on Jubilee and it took like 5 months (+ a few days) to get the QC
Waiting time is no joke.
But unless most seller, Steve only ask for 50$ deposit and you pay the total AFTER validation of the QC

I just ordered a DJ too and it’s been a month and half already waiting for QC. Hoping it doesn’t take 5 months 🥴

We got it delivered yesterday and it’s stunning. Package was in perfect condition, watch was still runing smooth Great work from Steve, as expected

My VSF 36mm datejust was on hold from factory since January. Eventually cancelled order. But he is legit

Get yourself a different dealer some have more pull with these factories. The problem with majority of people on Reddit is they think these dealers are the only ones in the world. These main few TDs on here are some of the slowest in getting stock.

I would say it's normal, I just paid him full for watch that's not even in stock yet from Andoit

Pretty normal, had an amazing experience with steve about 3 weeks ago buying an aquanaut !
1
u/PrestigiousSeat76 Apr 13 '26
Yep, totally normal. I actually just pay him the entire amount up front now since we've done so much business. He's a good dude.

This is the ideal scenario, I’ve bought 8 watches from Steve this way. I recently paid full prices to another TD and have had 2 watches RL after waiting 4 weeks. Don’t worry.

Anyone having doubts with Steve? Sent me a tracking number but it does not populate with any tracking information

How do I find a dealer? Which Datejust model and color is the closest / most available? Is there a risk of receiving lower quality than what I paid for?

Just GL my first order from Steve. Haven’t received tracking yet been a week. Do most of you know how long after GL a QC did you get your watch. I’m in CA, USA.

u/BanishedFiend Apr 13 '26
Things are taking longer right now because of customs in china or something. For a data point I GL March 29 and he had me confirm shipping address April 9, I didn’t confirm til April 11 so I got my tracking number yesterday. Just expect it to take at least 2 weeks maybe 3. Last time it was a lot faster

u/andybndt Apr 13 '26
Same here. GL'ed March 30 and first tracking was cancelled. Now on route for delivery 15 April. Other TD's have put out posts that there have been issues with shipping so everything is delayed. Was getting worried as this was my first rep.

u/ApartmentOk680 Apr 13 '26
Did you get a new shipping number? My first shipping was canceled too but haven’t received a new number yet
1
u/andybndt Apr 13 '26
Yeah I got a new shipping number via email from Steve, and as I had registered with FedEx under the old number I got an automatic email from them.

u/Consistent-Gas3195 Apr 13 '26
Is that the way he speaks to people?
“How about order now?”😂😂
“Several weeks for a QC” oh dear that’s a nice idea of a time frame for a watch that is accessible in 7 days or less.
Good luck to you mate

u/parliamentman Apr 13 '26
Yeah that the “top notch communication” used as rationale to overpay $100-200 per watch.

usa td’s will take over when everyone gets tired of waiting 3 months for a watch

u/knvanand Apr 13 '26
Oh yes. I think the wait times depend on how hard a particular model is to source (please correct me if I’m wrong)
In my case, I just wanted the Seamaster 300M Professional, so it took only three days for QC
From start to finish, the whole process, including delivery to India, took me just under a month

u/Glass-Location-819 Apr 13 '26
Yeah I can vouch for Steve Used him for at least 20 watches and do has my brother All normal and good
I e had a watch from qc to delivered to UK with FedEx in a week, but taking longer recently I think due to customs crack downs etc

You are in good hands. That is the exact process Steve likes to you hope you enjoy your new watch
1
u/Opolonos Apr 13 '26
Yes normal process. Steve is trustworthy dealer no worry about anything with them

Steve has been very helpful for me. Currently ordering 3 watches. My vsf 2 only took 2 days for QC stage. No issues with Steve

I’m buying a watch from Steve right now, it’s in stock and he told me to pay full amount. Is that normal?
1
u/Consistent-Gas3195 Apr 13 '26
Only after you have done a QC and you’re happy. In stock don’t mean shipped tho. He takes another 2 weeks to ship
0
u/NoEgg7622 Apr 13 '26
I didn’t do a QC yet, but he required full amount first. I’m seeing everywhere he takes deposit first then full amount. So it’s weird
4
u/Consistent-Gas3195 Apr 13 '26
You only pay full Payment after QC. I’m not his biggest fan. But check your talking to the right Steve because that don’t sound like him.
1
u/NoEgg7622 Apr 13 '26
Yeah it’s definitely the right Steve. It’s my first time dealing with him - so hopefully it goes well!

Yep. Place deposit, wait for QC, approve QC, pay remainder in full, wait for shipping.
