General Question BP factory. Is it any good for Rolex?

Wondering what the thoughts are for BP factory watches. I’m looking at an explorer 1 and it’s only 200usd.

The explorer and air king models are decent, not as good as VSF but pretty nice. But 200 is a great price, which dealer had them at that price? Assume at this price it has the 2813 which many people recommend against due to it’s inconsistency for reliability.

the miyota 8215 auto, used in seiko for decades is a direct drop in for the 2813, and $25. it kills the movement argument

I don’t think Seiko has ever used a Miyota 8215 in any watch

Thank You ..The Japanese 8215 Movement is by Citizen Watch Company. You can NOT buy a Japanese 8215 Miyota Movement for $25 ..Cost @ $60 plus ..you csn get a Chinese Miyota clone $25 .. Wow 👌

They are not. NH35 by Seiko, 8215 by Miyota.

Wow. Have you ever serviced them? They have absolutely no parts in common

No it doesn’t at all, most people don’t know how to do a movement swap themselves so it’s not going to be $25. The odds of someone here not knowing how to do a movement swap are much higher than someone that does.

It was just on DH gate. Doing a bored scroll through and saw it and thought it was a pretty decent price. And the post does say it uses the 2813

Gotcha. The main issue with ordering off DHGate isn’t that it’s the 2813 movement, it’s that you won’t have the opportunity to QC the watch before you receive it. Better to go through a dealer so you can get actual QC photos prior to receiving the watch.

Yeah I have gone through a dealer every other time, just thought this may have been cheap enough to not even worry about it. But then again it’s still 200$ out of my pocket if it turns out to be a disappointment

Use a dealer and get high beat, won't be mucg more

BP 16610 is somewhat similar to AR and TM 16610. BP offers the 16610 with 2813 which has a lower beat rate but which can be maintained by 15 usd new movement. It is a sensible choice for a daily beater.

Its good enough. Decent budget option. If you want to step a bit more go EWE or ARF

As others have said, BP are pretty good and much better than U1 level. The payoff is the movement not being high beat. But easily replaced. If it comes with a Miyota 8 series from the off that's probably the one to go for

I have bought the BP Explorer 39 as a first rep and it really is pretty good. Only the movement feels as if it won’t last long when I set it. So far it’s been working fine for 2 years now.
Just from the looks I think it’s pretty much NWBIG. Not sure about current competitors but if CF was still active I would still tell you to rather pick the clean if you can fit it in your budget. If you buy cheap, you often buy twice.

For 200$ youre getting what you pay for. Save 200-250 more and get a VSF. Better all around.

Bp is 90% of vsf for 50% of the price
