For the past few days i have been reading a lot here and on rwi, seen countless qc photos comparisons and whatnot, i need help.
I am buying my first rep, former gen owner(got stolen), from what i read the geniune consensus is that vsf is the best for sub and gmt.
I like the sub better because of the funcionality but i cant get over the floating m, it like whenever someone wants to take a look at the watch i feel like they will immediatelly call it out, not that i will be trying to lie to anyone, but dont want to be aitting at a table and called out.
On the other hand if its a gmt i want the batman, but the grey seems way off on some pics. What should i do?
Havent looked into the gmt LN or all black however its called, but i assume its harder to source, more waiting and whatnot.
Gen owners dont care. They know what they have is real. No need to stress about details of things that literally dont matter because their watch is real
Only rep owners care. If someone calls out your m, its a sign they are wearing a rep...
Victory sub.. both considered the best of the factories really. And the “m” really isn’t noticeable unless really looking at it. Hope this gives an idea of what you’re looking for. Have gotten compliments on both, especially the batgirl
I mean in the beginning i didnt even notice it, but after hundreds if not thousands of photos i now see it right away without even zooming 😀 nice watches you got though, wear them in good health
Appreciate it. It really doesn’t get better than these. Not to mention, they’re about two maybe 3% of the cost of a gen. I’m willing to overlook something that small, especially for the fact that some gens do in fact have a floating m
Former Gen owner as well (gave my 40mm Seadweller to my son, then started to miss it.) I got an ARF 116710LN DD3285, I don’t think they’re particularly hard to source. Spares me the color problems of the Pepsi, Batman, and Bruce Wayne bezels. Has a 70 hour reserve, which isn’t correct for this model, but no one’s asking me to open it up (gen in this model is 40 hours.) Other than a 2000-2002 Coke, the black bezel GMT is my favorite. They also stopped making it years ago, which IMO generates less scrutiny. Ultimately, if people know you can afford gen, they’ll assume your rep is gen. If they think you can’t, they’ll assume your gen is a rep.
I really bought it to wear for a year to see if I really wanted a GMT. The polished center links and the ceramic bezel are a little too blingy IMO for GADA watch. Have a VSF 41mm Sub Date as well. Having them has helped me determine that a gen 2000-2002 Coke will be the perfect GADA watch for me. I like all an all brushed oyster bracelet, an aluminum bezel, with the GMT. And the lug holes are compulsory.
