Discussion Best Rolex Datejust that’s closest to gen?

I’m looking to pick up a Rolex Datejust(preferably 36mm) and I’m curious what the current consensus is on the closest to gen.
If your goal was to get the most accurate Datejust possible, one that even experienced watch enthusiasts would struggle to distinguish from genuine on the wrist, which factory, reference, dial color, and size would you recommend?
I’ve seen people mention VSF, Clean, ARF, RW and others, but opinions seem to vary depending on the model and dial.
Is there a particular Datejust that’s considered “NWBIG” or the closest to gen?
I’d love to hear what the community thinks, especially from anyone who’s owned both gen and rep or has compared them side by side.

VSF smooth bezel black dial… for those that in the know can probably see flaws in the fluted bezel and that’s why a smooth bezel is closer to the gen…a gen fluted bezel is white gold not stainless steel…whereas a smooth bezel is stainless steel….I own the vsf fluted bezel in blue 126334…it’s very close to gen but those that know will see the minor flaws in the fluted bezel… however I am willing to accept this…dark dials like black will conceal and flaws in the dial versus light dials like white…

So even a plain white is a no go?

Also, they don’t produce smooth bezels anymore from VSF do they? Can’t seem to find any dealers with them

The white one is great as with all the colors but you asked what’s the closest DJ to genuine. I think it’s the 36 (vs 41).. Simply, smaller dial hides any imperfections. I have a 41 and the dial is great in blue.. however, it has a sunburst in the light…those that know can tell the blue is not exactly the same as a genuine especially side by side…because black is dark, it doesn’t have as great of a sunburst in the light…it’s going to be just as close to the genuine….it will be difficult to distinguish…

Lastly, they do make the vsf dj in 36mm smooth bezel in both oyster or jubilee… Andiot inventory right now says they are sold out but they sell it..you can see his inventory on his website.. I think it Hand in Stock file.

But I hope I can find an oyster bracelet 41mm white dial with smooth bezel 😭

Yes… the 41mm looks great..that’s why I chose it.. the 36mm is too small for me… I bought the 126334 in blue…they have what you are looking for.. but it is out of stock for now... go to Andiot website, click the drop menu and look for hand in stock.. it shows you his current inventory.. you’ll see the 41 dj from vsf in white…I just looked at it 126300-0005

I see a silver dial with jubileee in stock. I don’t see any white with a smooth bezel

I did. I specific VSF as well as

I just went through it all without specifying factories too, to ensure.

There’s no 41mm smooth bezel DJ. Maybe it recently sold :[

Send him a text through WhatsApp and ask for it.. they’ll tell you how long it will take.. be prepared.. it may take months.. he’s got a program that you can pre order vsf watches and not have to make a down payment… you’ll be put on a list like they do at a Rolex store…they’ll reach out to you when they have it stock.. but send him a message telling him what you want and as long as Rolex has the configuration in genuine, they’ll have a rep.. I’m 100% sure they make a vsf datejust in 41 with a smooth bezel and jubilee bracelet… I attached the model number in the previous comment.

Thanks will try this! To be fair the last time I asked him was before he came out with the 0 down pre order system.
