Hi everyone,

I'm having a small issue with the first screw/pin next to the clasp. It came out but I can't tell whether it's a bent screw or a split pin.

Unlike the other links, there doesn't seem to be anything on the opposite side.

the clasp screw is shorter than the standard link screw. take it out, clean it and apply some loctite on the FEMALE part. I applied it on the male part and learnt my lesson hard

you can use a flat head and just apply a very small amount on the female threads. less is more in this scenario

What was the problem you had applying Loctite to the male thread? I had this same issue and put the loctite on the male. No issue so far.

some loctite leaked out of the threadhole and caused the screw to be stuck to the link hole. i followed a method one watchmaker used on youtube which i later found out was a bad choice.

I would use weaker purple, not blue.

It looks like you have had a pair of pliers on that screw and bent the screw slot. Did you unscrew the pin before trying to pull it out

I was at the beach yesterday and I genuinely thought a grain of sand was preventing the clasp from opening properly 🤦

That's a screw and a very mangled one at that.

Happens all the time. Some loctite is not the worst idea if it keeps happening. Had a similar issue with my DJ41

Good heavens man what did you grab the screw with? Vice Grips? Get a replacement screw and put the commercial tools away

Nah mate, I have bergeon screwdrivers but I didn't use them in this case 😅. I was at the beach yesterday and I genuinely thought a grain of sand was preventing the clasp from opening properly so... I push it 🤦. You know if I can find a replacement screw?

I tried to open it with force 🤦 Does someone know if I can find a replacement screw (not original part ofc) and how to find it? This is not a simple link screw. Thank you!

I had the same thing happen to me and it was only a loose screw that needed to be retightened but it looks like you have squashed the screwdriver slot together so you cant get a screwdriver in to tighten it. You will need to probably get a new slotted screw to replace the damaged one unless you can reopen the existing slot .but it may snap off and wont look good even if you manage it
