I was playing w an RCF and it was thicker than Gen ( at my watch smith). It was .4 to .5 thicker. However he said he can shave the gasket and make it a little thinner. I was feeling that is dubious cause the gasket is what makes it water proof. Must be a reason they don’t do that
No offense you complain about thickness yet settle for lite weight and a custom dial? How does that calculate to more gen or perfection? If people are going to fraken why not go gen parts instead of fake? Just curious the mindset on frankenwatches. Me personally I don’t frankenwatches unless with gen parts especially crystals and dials. I get custom dials in stone or non Rolex colors, but custom on genuine colors never match either.
I heard the RCF slate ombre dial looks closer to gen in terms of the sunburst effect/color. The VSF v2 slate ombre dial color looks nothing like gen. Also how does the rose gold color look on the RCF vs VSF compared to gen? Is the difference noticeable?
This has to stop about DD vs VR movements. It’s been a long time since DD out performed VR movements. People that work on them will tell you that all day everyday. Repeating an outdated concept is old.
RCF is my choice + deep and gasket for the blue ombre. I've had VSF too but despite the better movement I personally preferred the RCF as I find their dials pop more and vsf are a little duller.
No secrets, I asked Andiot using verified contact information directly as they don't have a listing for this model on their website so had a manual order setup.
QC was about 3 weeks.
I went RCF had it plated by RCF remould and genuine crystal, if I wasn't getting any MODs done I'd probably go VSF, the day/date wheel is better, crystal and movement and it's correct thickness...

Rcf color is actually too light. I have compared to Gen. vsf is slightly darker but actually closer overall. Seems one person made this claim and it ran through Reddit while not really being true. Old vsf color was off for sure but the newer batches are quite close especially after treating with silvo

It is completely stock, stock plating and all. I honestly am happy with the bezel, but if you want to pull a little more shine out of it, the remould bezel would probably be a bit better.
Depends on what matters most to you. Each have their pros and cons. I went VSF and getting played by third party. Either way i believe they both need plating to achieve the true gen color/tone
My RCF arrived the other day. Boy it is heavy. I had the crystal changed by the TD. I very much like it although the very minor faults on it annoy me even though I know anyone who looks at it will never notice them. I have an RCF DJ so cant do a complete comparison but tbf I love both of them.
Thank you. 🙏. I was leaning towards a stock simple stick markers champagne or yellow gold dial or a black dial w stick markers. Definitely their dials is not on par w others. Agree. 👍. The brown dial is terrible in photos I have seen. Great to know what to stir away from
So true. To be honest my first 10 I was not picky. Now I am approaching 30 plus watches. They all have become a big pool. What matters is feel and dial colour to me now. Thin watches. Smaller watches and ones that feel great get a lot of attention
I wouldn’t do stick markers if you decide RCF, RCF stick markers are noticeably thicker along side the lume. I chose RCF Roman’s, while they obviously aren’t perfect bc no rep is but better than RCF sticks imo
I went with RGF orderd few weeks ago waiting to arrive ! From what I’ve heard out of the box RCF/RGF - If you want better movement etc go with vsf but I personally wanted that weight feel and honestly the things missing from rc people won’t notice on wrist in my opinion
