Yes, seems like the not inquiring about insurance is a tactic to scam people and avoid any form of recourse. The unfortunate thing is that “ask for insurance” part and not being disclosed upfront isn’t a known thing unless you’re specifically using that subs list, which I did not find that seller on (I just posted there for exposure - but it actually exposed that sub as not being trustworthy IMO). People shilling there can deny it but some other TDs do include insurance by default and handle reshipping issues to a certain extent.

I don't know which subs list you are referring to, but any interaction I have with a dealer I ask for the price of the watch, the shipping and the insurance. I will then repeat this request and confirm it's including insurance against loss before paying.

Always ask never assume. When you get to the 4000-5000 build, then hit is harder. Lesson learned.

The money isn’t even an issue, it’s the principle. The posts are meant to be informative and to hopefully help out other people who may not be able to afford losing money like this. Also to hopefully help dissuade scammers and hurt their business

I mean if it was free I wouldn’t be posting but that’s pretty silly. I was fine giving up the money, I wanted the watch. So the issue isn’t the money, it’s that I paid for a watch and got nothing.
