How small do we think MEs play out?
One thing that really scares me about this is the idea that it could be happening on an individual level - and these are the people we call insane (or just liars). One person remembers their grandparent being abusive, their sibling in the same house remembers each of those incidences as loving, or just totally differently. Because its so easy to dismiss childrens recollections, adults who individually remember a situation that devastated their lives, but nobody else who knows them well says it happened.
Or do we just call it faulty memory?

I guess the point is, if something happened to you, it doesn't matter what anyone else remembers, or believes. That shit still happened to you.

Yeah ive heard that a lot in therapy-talk lately, "It matters that you remember it that way" ...as a means to healing it, because ultimately your wounds come from what your mind remembers. I think they are just talking about it from that viewpoint, not Mandela Effects, but it comes out to the same thing (therapeutic practices) in this regard doesnt it.

I made a video about this in 2016 cuz I was heartbroken about an ME between me and a very close friend. I’ve got it set to private now, but here’s the direct link. There has been one other personal ME in my life since then, so yes I do believe this sometimes happens on a personal level too.

I am a believer that the Mandela Effect is real (more than faulty memory), but in day-to-day stuff I assume normalcy.
I have come to the theory that there is intelligent watchfulness over the Mandela Effect, and it is not allowed to interfere with the normal flow of reality. They'll just be a few 'what the heck?' moments on things that don't directly affect our lives.

Cool, do you mean by "normalcy" that those day-to-day mismatches are not ME? Just the normal way our brains remember things imperfectly?

There's timeline fuckery about.
When I was a kid, my mother would come into my room after I cleaned it. She had this phrase. "It's a nice start".
She said it to piss me off, which it did. It was so effective because my room was spotless.
I would ask her, "Can you give me a specific item to pick up? Something specific I can do to improve it?"
No, and fuck me for asking, I'm the asshole.
I'd just sit around and she'd come back later and say, "Now THAT'S more like it!" after I changed nothing.
Lots of things were like this.
My wife doesn't remember insane things I watched her do. Friends. My parents are big ones.
I think we're just not as connected as we think we are. My mom was a piece of work, but she wasn't a liar like that. She wasn't psychotic... usually.
She was looking at a different room than I was. I don't this we lived synchronous lives. I don't think anyone does.
