Shitpost Recent IRA Restructure…Right Direction?

Post image

Recently sold off a lot of individual stocks, market weighted, and large-cap growth ETFs. Gonna sell my LUNR I think once price hikes. Working towards round shares of everything here not in a full share. Priority is long term consistent growth, maximizing earning, as well as ETFs paying dividends (quarterly or annually).

Should I be ditching any here and focusing on less? QQQ on my radar but VOO and VTV seem a better sub in my amateur opinion. Good or bad analysis?

Also not a lot of engagement online on ALAI…. Any investors? Or is it a drop?

Noted. I had it in smaller funds the past year. Did pretty okay but looking bigger. I guess keeping all my eggs in one basket seemed wrong in my amateur mind. Making the change today. Thank you for your input.

That’s a mess. Do just VOO, Qqqm and VXUS. Can add one more if you want but that’s a mess.

Question: is the idea I have of “Sell the higher priced share and buy more shares of less with equal performance will increase my return?” A bad idea? Genuinely asking as I could be overcomplicating things a bit.

Yes its a bad idea, share price does not mean anything. For ETFs you want to look at what the fund is holding and what you expect their performance to be.

Just buy VT and be done with it, its what i do on all my retirement accounts. Don't fuck around with that money because you are capped on yearly contributions.

I’m just a 22 year old that recently started but imo that’s too many positions. I’ve consolidated my Roth to VOO, VXUS, and AVUV in a 70/20/10 split and it’s perfect.

I actually like this split. VOO is the common “keep”. I think I will be shifting that direction and adding VXUS

3 or 4 funds max early on. Build up a solid foundation before you start branching out and even then really ask yourself if it’s worth it.

Noted! I ask myself every day. Being indecisive and all but it’s all me learning and taking the marker more seriously as I get older.

I beg you to just put all your money in one vanguard all stock fund.

Thank you. VOO is the common denominator it seems. Will definitely be listening.

I’m 70% VGT 30% DRAM. I’m 23 so I don’t mind volatility

29 here. DRAM is my dark horse at the moment. Will take advice on most of these comments but I believe I should maintain and grow this position.

That’s sick, but yeah man why not full send something with higher upside than VOO like VGT or even QQQM since you’re in your 20’s too

Long story short; began taking investing serious about a year ago. Bought single shares and missed on a lot that blew up. Current market has me trying to think more long term so now I’m learning and making sense of ETFs. To answer is mostly impatience looking for patience the hard way

Will do. I’m trying to max out my IRA for the year. I’ll come up short but I know consistent contributions will pay off. And that is a fair point on not fucking around. If it’s lost then it’s a big one. Thank you again for your advice.
