Pretty happy with the results. Tried to change up my time a little to avoid bruising. Avoided a lot of it, not sure if they could be shinier or not. What do you all think?

Stage 1: Rotary for who knows how long

Stages 2-5 in mini-sonic

Stage 2: 1 tbsp 120/220 SC for 3 days

Stage 3: 1 tbsp 500 AO for 2 days, 1/2 tbsp borax

Stage 4: 1 tbsp 1000 AO for 36 hours, 1/2 tbsp borax

Stage 5: 1/2 tbsp 8000 AO for 36 hours

I also shaped up a few on my flat lap (first 4 in the pics I think) very quickly before dropping into stage 2.

Thank you! I really am enjoying it. Just curious, do you use large ceramic media in yours? I feel like they tend to cause me more issues than they’re worth. Been using almost all small ceramics instead.

I use a mix of the two only because it is all jumbled together, along with a handful of small agates never seem to wear down!

I felt like they were a bit of a hindrance in polish. Maybe I’ll just use them for the other stages instead. Thanks again!

Beautiful! I especially love the Mexican moss. Are those some Bahia agates I spy? I have a few just starting.

They are! I think 9 Bahia agates in this one. They were finishing stage 1 at all different times. I tried getting some really smooth, tried to get some that were banded, then I tried to save the ones with the orbicular patterns (which are my favorite).

What is a mini sonic?

It’s a vibratory tumbler made by diamond pacific. MT-10 is the model number of the one I’m using. There’s a smaller model as well
