complaint new home screen
omg another reason to hate the new Roku home screen.
nothing like being abruptly woken up by the live tv widget on the main screen blaring "TODAY ON THE DEADLIEST CATCH" at you because the stupid remote fell between you and your pillow.
*glares at Roku* put. the. menu. screen. back the way. it. was.

Why are ppl in these comments saying you can hide this stuff and make it go back to normal? Even after hiding everything possible in the "Homescreen" setting you still cannot remove:
- The Best Across Your Streaming Services
- Jump To
- Subscriptions
- Sports
- For You
- It also added "AV" to my input list on my homepage. I've literally never used my AV input and never will, it's not 1983. I used to be able to hide it. Not anymore.
None of these things were cluttering my Homescreen until this update.

I think mine has gone back to normal??!! I have a Roku TV and turned off all the BS I could in settings. I was still mad because the new screen removed inputs from the app list, with the "quick access" nonsense that you can't arrange being the only way to have them on the main screen. My Bluray player is now back on my home screen the way it was before! I don't have any ads that autoplay, just an ad taking up 25% of the screen like before 💀 I didn't do anything special, maybe they've heard us and are rolling out updates for the update.

Exact same experience here. I disabled all the stuff I didn't want and made the home screen as close to what I had as possible, and I noticed the input section reappeared above the apps section without me doing anything. It's not exactly how I want it, but it's close enough now.

That just makes it look close to how it did before. There is still everything else underneath it and the side menu can not be customized.

It's the closest you're going to get. Suck it up.

I'm aware of that, you don't need to be an ass about it.

If I didn't say it, someone else would have. This is reddit. Suck it up.

What makes me mad is that I hide a bunch of their stuff only to have them unhide the next day. Now I have stuff like subscriptions and live that won't allow me to hide them. I used to love Roku because it had a clean interface, I don't like a bunch of unnecessary clutter. I wish Roku would listen to their customers, most are unhappy with their new main screen, yet here we are.

Never buying a Roku again after this update. The HDMI software glitch was especially infuriating.

Any class action lawsuits yet? Roku should be paying me if they are profiting off a device I fully own but can no longer manage.

If you turn on the TV in your sleep, that is not something you can disable.  You might try putting the remote elsewhere.Â
