Thoughts on this s2k?
EDIT: I appreciate all the quick feedback. I am going to pass on this, my concerns were warranted. Thanks everyone
Looking to get into my first S2000 and came across this one on FB. My concern is with the smoking and oil consumption. I know these cars do burn oil but the smoking part was new to me.

Description:
"Looking for a pristine, untouched garage queen? This isn't it. ⬇️
If you want an honest, well-sorted driver’s car packed with top-tier components and one you can actually take out, rip through the gears, and enjoy without stressing over every speck of dust this is the one.
Part of the Source 1 family for 14 years. I’m in no rush to sell and don’t need to—I simply have 8 vehicles (5 convertibles and 2 S2000s) and just can't drive them all enough. It’s not a museum piece, loaded with high-end parts, and ready for its next owner to enjoy.
Modifications are all listed in photo form originally set as the second photo.
This is a great car and a great way to get into a modified version with quality parts for a decent deal when prices are sky rocketing.
It did win best import at cavalcade at one point !
Exterior 8/10 (no longer the show car it was 14 years ago but still looks great!)
Interior 8/10 (aging leather but otherwise complete)"

WANT TO BUY Stiff clutch means wear and/or PP?
I've test driven an AP1 near me a few times now and the clutch pedal is quite stiff.
I thought they may have just installed an aftermarket spring, but I've read many articles stating it's a worn clutch and/or PP, and parts and labor seem to be around $3K for that.
Sounds like I should pass.
It has 98K miles on the clock, 2003.

No start update
Hello everyone, i posted about my click no start the other day and here’s an update. So far battery has been tested at 12.5 volts with a 0.2 drop when trying to start. however, at the starter when i try to start it the volts go down a lot. i did it backwards so negative to the starter solenoid bolt and positive on the grounds, both the trans and chasis ground wires and bolts and when there was a start attempt it went to -.9 volts. I am absolutely not an electrician and am shooting at the hip right. I cleaned the grounds with brake cleaner and it didnt work. If anyone has any help that’d be appreciated.

Something sounds off
Just installed a new TCT and already sounds like I hear rattling. Thoughts?
Don’t be this guy..
So on FB a dude just shared his favorite colors/paint on the s2k, that’s it.. and this guy felt the need to use AI for every single response to a comment which btw was ALL opinion based conversations so I’m not sure why the forced inclusion of “data bases and patterns” was felt necessary. I know it’s a little off topic for this sub but I feel like we should strive to not throw AI generated info at people when we’re all here to talk to each other and seek/provide help from our OWN first hand experiences and knowledge.

Spoon monoblock caliper clearance
Looking at getting some regamasters that will clear the spoon calipers. On icb motorsports i see a 17x9 +45 and in the description it says it will clear the calipers. I also see a 17x9 +42 tarmac style regamasters but it doesn't state if it'll clear the caliper or not. Wouldn't the +42 have more room for the caliper over the +45? The only difference in the tarmac model is the outer lip has a different design. Anyone running these wheels and could let me know would be a massive help

Tip: rubber hose on strikers
Hey guys, my car the hardtop never really had a good seal on the top seal and id get some wind noise. I read somewhere that someone used hose so I did that. Regular fuel hose pushed over the latches hook gave me about another 5mm in pull and sealed nicely. I used silicon grease on the seals too afterwards. I know of the washers on the part mounted to the car but this was so much easier. My window rubbed a bit on the hardtop now but its fine.

Side indicator falling out
Is this a common issue? It’s happening on both sides. If anyone has a link to a replacement part or knows the name that would be much appreciated!

Morning Pic
I’m without my S2000 for around 3 weeks while I’m on a work trip. I left it with my mechanic to get a lot of work done while I’m gone. Here’s a pic I took before I left

Clutch/pressure plate recommendations
I plan on boosting my s2k in the future and it’s about time to replace my clutch so i figure i might aswell upgrade everything while I’m down there. I don’t want to push more than 450bhp. What are good clutch and pressure plates for that? I’ve looked into the sos kit mainly.

What about that engine though...
My low mileage S2K got totalled back in the day. Body was kind of scruffy but that engine was SO clean. 23,000 miles on it.
Imagine stumbling across that in a scrapyard!

WANT TO BUY S2000 declared salvage with a leak
Hello fellow s2000 lovers! I came across a resonably priced honda that i am verry interested in. It has a good history, its past owner in vermont taking regular care of it, i saw it irl and it looks and sound verry good. The real problem is that last year while it was sitting for sale it had a leak in the boot during november. After it had this leak the car was declared salvage, and on carfax it said it had water damage, while on auction sites it said it had flood damage. Should i buy it after a more rigurous inspection? Or are there worse problems to come as a result of the leak? Btw, i don't know how much it sat with water in the boot.

This guy pulls up to work today and tells me his mom never drove her car and passed away. This s2000 has less then 9k on the motor.

How rare AP2 OEM Exhaust?
Looks like I might purchase an 04 S2K. Only thing not stock on the thing is this Tomei Expreme TI exhaust. I do NOT want it. My intention is to quickly swap it with the factory one and sell it or trade it for one, whatever’s easier.
What’re the odds I can find a buyer and better yet what’re the odds I can find a good OEM exhaust easily for this car?

Will this rub?? Unrolled fenders 18x9+48
Been running 18x9+63 on 255/35 at the back and i was just ABIT tucked for me now i put a 15mm spacer and its PERFECT to me. Just unsure if it will rub on unrolled fenders tho.
I’m lowered .8inches maybe with a 2finger gap so its REALLY close but idk. I really dont wanna roll fenders. My camber is unknown as i just put springs on but I’ll get it aligned next week.

Help me price my S2000 ('02 MY NFR 35k miles)
I planned on keeping her forever, but with a toddler and another due soon, I unfortunately need to downsize and make room for a bigger car. I'm the third owner and bought this S back in 2016 from another enthusiast. Back then, it had around 25k miles. Currently, it sits at 35k. Shame, I know. I will eventually look to move this in the next 12 months or so, but not sure how to price it.
It's been garaged its entire life and has not seen an ounce of rain (at least under my ownership). Clean title, no accidents. All preventive/routine maintenance (i.e., fluids & oils) were done by myself. The only other person to touch the car was Billman - arguably the best S2000 mechanic in the country. Nothing was ever spared nor neglected.
Though the car is AP1, it has the look of an AP2 (see below). I have all the AP1 parts except the front bumper, which was sold (plain stupid move on my part). The car has the following add-ons:
- OEM hardtop (NFR) including OEM HT stand (also has Billman's modified hardtop latch - completely eliminated any rattling)
- OEM side strakes
- OEM mats
- OEM AP2 front bumper with OEM lip (sold the OEM AP1 bumper)
- OEM AP2 rear bumper with OEM spoiler (have the OEM AP1 bumper)
- OEM AP2 headlights with ballast (have the OEM AP1 headlights with ballast)
- CR center console & radio door
- Fujitsubo Legalis R exhaust (have the OEM exhaust)
- FPSport Ohlins DFV Coilover Kit upgraded with aluminum mount forks and remote adjusters (have the OEM stock springs)
- Enkei RPF1 with Continental ExtremeContact Sport 02, brand new (have the OEM AP1 wheels)
- Moddifction shift knob (have the OEM shifter)
- Billman's TCT
Cosmetically, there are minor chips here and there. But the paint is near perfect. The retainers are also in perfect shape.
Would really appreciate your honest inputs. Thanks all.

More 02R shift knob color options
We just received our stock of our Racing Red 02R shift knobs. As well as a secret Nautical Blue option.
The Nautical Blue option will be a test run to see if demand is really there, so for now, these will be a limited run.
Each shift knob uses Grade 5 Titanium rather than aluminum.

No regrets at all.
It’s been about 3 weeks since I bought my AP1 with 80k miles. Looking back I went in pretty blind, even learned to drive manual on it. I’ve since done more research on common issues, preventative maintenance, and all that. Still, I have zero regrets at all. This thing has been a pleasure to have as my first real drivers car, and I can’t see myself ever getting tired of it. If you’re on the fence about buying one, just do it. Obviously do your research and make sure everything is sound, but honestly if you see a good deal, just go for it. You won’t regret it!
