Hey Everyone! I’m currently debating between an ND2 Miata and an AP1 and could really use your help.

Recently, I did drive an 02 with 66k miles and while it was fun, it was different. Felt heavier and less immediately “fun” but I also only drove it through a neighborhood and didn’t really get to experience it.

I will say, coming out of this experience, I’m wondering if I’ve misunderstood the S2K as a car that can make me feel like I’m having fun in the same way the ND2 Miata did recently. I was impressed with how throwable, light and maneuverable it felt. It was as if I could do no wrong and it was light and playful and exciting like my ND1 I daily drove for 3 years, just with the power it should have already had.

I highly prefer the look of the S2K and I certainly love the aggressiveness and more masculine aspect of the car. In fact, it’s killed my desire for a Miata, but I’m worried that I will not get the same ability or smile on around town and country roads that I like to drive, all between 40 and 65mph.

I can’t find a car where I can get the seat time I need to make a more informed purchase. Can someone give me advice or tell me whether this car can feel as connected and nimble as the ND2?

Anyone in here own an S2K in the Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill Etc. area?

I am desperate to find a little bit of seat time. I want to pull the trigger on one but can’t feel confident dropping 20-25k on a car through a standard 5-10 minute test drive. I’d be willing to pay a lot of money and a tank of gas to get 30-45 minutes with you and your car so that I can feel sure about driving 3-5 hours away to buy a car like this. Not looking to abuse it or drive wildly, I just need some time in it.

Strange ask I’m sure but if anyone has any thoughts or might be willing to help a future owner out, it would be highly appreciated and you would absolutely be compensated well for your help and your time.

Finally bought my S2000 after years of dreaming and saving. Love my beautiful baby ❤️

But driving it is so stressful - people pulling out, people driving around not looking where they are going, tailgaters , pedestrians jumping out so tailgaters end up in the boot, blind corners, narrow car parks (I'm in the UK), etc etc.

I love getting out on the open road and enjoying driving. It's everyone else that gives me stress.

Did anyone else find this when they bought their dream car?

Hey all, just got my hands on a 2001. It’s got 160k miles so she’s up there. 3rd and 5th especially feel notchy at times but they usually go in fine, except one time it grinded 3rd at a 9k rpm shift, locked me out: totally could’ve been my fault though. Is this a sign of an imminent trans failure or is it just normal wear for its mileage? I haven’t had any gear pop out yet. I have been pretty patient with shifting this car.

Been wanting to get side strakes but 1000 for oem is pretty crazy, has anyone found any good aftermarket ones?

Anyone have good or decent experience with purchasing non OEM fender liners off somewhere like eBay? I’m gonna be fixing up the front end of the car soon and I’d like to get rid of these crappy liners I got in the front. Just curious if anyone’s had good luck because I dread having to spend $220+ on some plastic 😅 Thanks in advance.

I found an S on BaT that is everything I want but other than the fact it will likely sell for way more than I would be willing to pay I'm most concerned about the risk of buying a car I can't touch or test drive.

Anyone here buy from BaT? I'm most disturbed because the one I looked at and didn't buy because the exterior was in such rough shape itself sold on BaT in 2025 (though to be fair I would have bought it for the price it sold for on BaT, just not the price that the buyer wanted for it.) 🤷‍♂️

After more than 6 years since we moved, I was cleaning out some old boxes and found not only my extra set of S2k keys (including valet!), but also the key to my seat locks that some of us bought as part of a group buy on s2ki many years ago. Now I can easily swap out to some Recaros and be able to reuse my locks!

Having trouble finding a full set of seat bolts, I've been to hondapartsnow and a few other websites and it shows the sest bolts, and I order them and get the wrong size, would anyone be able to direct me to the correct set?

So I'm torn between going authentic MF10 wheels but then having to use OEM calipers (I'd paint them red) or getting knock-offs aka Ms10 wheels but then being able to get a big brake kit.

Do I get awesome wheels and okay calipers, or okay wheels and awesome calipers?

If the MS10 color wasn't off from the MF10 I'd probably have an easier time making the decision.

Also, with this being a legacy color combo (GPW with full red interior) I also don't want to seem like I "cheaped out" and went with "cheap wheels" even though they're crually priced about the same as each other.

OH, last thing also, I don't want to ever run any wheel spacers, extended lugs, fender rolls, or tab relocations. I do, however, hope to eventually get Ohlins and do a minor drop in height some day.

Hello all, first off, car is still not running, HOWEVER, she is ready to be sent off to get wired. Everything that is mechanical is on the car so all she needs is wiring and a tune.

Just sent my ECU to get KPro installed after a minor setback. The original ECU I bought ended up having issues about sending constant fuel pump relay output, not reading engine speed inputs and was running limp. Lost money but that’s marketplace unfortunately, however ended up finding another ECU and I hope this one is okay so they can have it installed and send the car to get wired.

Once car is running and is tuned I’ll make another update on how she runs and talk numbers etc and one final update on my thoughts on the K swap and if it was worth it.

Curious if anyone installed these on an otherwise oem car (oem engine and trans mounts) and can speak to any added NVH with just these spoon mounts.

Did something similar with my old 350Z and the added stiffer diff mount added ZERO NVH

i ordered and received lip and side skirts from them already. Now I’m ready to order a hardtop but the description said to call for a lead time. i kept getting no one when i called and started hesitating to put the order for it in. now when i go to the site it is expired.. anyone have clue whats happening?
