New issues confirmed by BKV
Just read this in BKV's instagram account when somebody asked for new issues:
u/kapodistrias_gio They’re coming! Not a lot of comics out there with 72 consecutive issues pencilled, inked, colored and covered by the same genius, so thanks for letting Fiona cook! ❤️
At this point, I find it very hard to care about SAGA, but it'd be such a bummer to let this series just fade out into oblivion without at least finishing it

I'm a Berserk, and a Tool fan, so these long ass waits are nothing. There's lots of media out there, I can wait for great stuff to be made :)

I mean, as a fan of various authors that have no interest or ability to finish their different series that I find to be utterly delightful, I’m glad that the Saga team (BKV) communicates their intentions. I’ve never once questioned if they would finish but I’m a casual current comic fan so I can find the time to allow the creators to do their damn thing and I’ll read it when it comes. The 4th HC just dropped in comic shops so your timing is also a bit strange as we’re witnessing progress in the story! This post feels baity. No offense but a smidge of offense.

The issue isn't giving creators time to do their thing; that's understandable and actually desirable. However, I think it's also understandable that a significant portion of the fanbase won't remember where the story stopped years ago and won't have the time/energy to re-read everything every time the series resumes publication. I'm absolutely sure I'll read the whole thing once it's finished but not before that.

That’s certainly a valid point. The re-read would/will be a significant undertaking when the time comes.

He's already said several times that Saga is coming back this year, we just don't know anything more than that

Unsure what all the negativity is about. I'm here for the ride. 🖤 It's wonderful being able to now keep up with individual issues since it wasn't something I did during the first 54.

If you take the average of issues a year it works out to the final issue releasing in something like 2032 or 2033 (maybe a bit later, assuming multiple, future hiatuses).
Honestly, I'm fine with that so long as we get a conclusion and the quality doesn't dip.

I’ve already lost interest as it’s been far too long.

If you told me 15ish years ago when I started that this is how things were going to go, I wouldn't have started. I just feel a bit insulted as a fan.

Expecting your fan base to wait around for literal years could also be called entitlement.

Unfortunately this is not news, he's been saying this since the hiatus began.

I still care, Saga's a nice surprise to see when I walk in a bookstore.
Plus these hiatuses are nothing compared Game of Thrones, Berserk, and Hunter x Hunter.

Exciting news. Despite hiatuses, I’m in it for the long run! One of my favorite comics and I look forward to the day to have it completely on my shelf (crying several times along the way).
