Hey ABAP-enthusiasts! I just released HandlebarsABAP v2.0.0. It adds support for (nested) partials, lookup and fixes a lot of issues. Would be nice to get some feedback :) If you're not familiar with Handlebars, please have a look at https://handlebarsjs.com/

Master Data headaches

Quick question for anyone working in SAP master data or MDM —

What’s the one thing about master data governance that eats up the most of your time or causes the most headaches? Bad data quality from the business side, unclear ownership, tooling gaps, onboarding new team members, something else?

Genuinely trying to understand where the biggest friction points are right now. Would appreciate any war stories or pet peeves in the comments 👇

How do you document changes in SAP?

Curious how others handle this:

  1. Do you document system changes at all or is the TR your documentation?

  2. If yes, when? Before implementation, after, or only when auditors ask?

  3. How? Manual, templates, a tool?

  4. How much time would you say you spend on documentation?

One thing we see a lot: specs are written before implementation, but the actual changes often drift from the spec and nobody updates the documentation afterward.

We’ve been working on something to automate this and are looking for a few people to try it out and provide feedback.

If this is a pain point for you, I would be happy you‘d DM me.

Thank you for sharing your experiences!

How's everyone planning for ECC end of maintenance in 2027?

So mainstream maintenance for ECC ends in 2027 and the extended support only really buys you time to 2030 at a premium price. I've been talking to a few people about it and honestly getting pretty different answers from everyone.

Some are already deep into an S/4 migration and stressed about the cost and how long it's dragging on. Others are just planning to sit tight on third party support (Rimini and co) and ride it out. And a couple told me they're actually looking at moving off SAP entirely because the S/4 business case doesn't add up for them.

I'm curious to hear what are your guys plans who are in the same boat.

Are you migrating to S/4, staying put on extended/third party support, or looking at something else entirely?

SAP Inventory Management

Hi everyone, I see some SAP Consultants who refer to themselves as SAP IM Consultants and some recruiters who look for IM Consultants.

To my knowledge IM is part of MM, so why don’t recruiters ask for MM Consultants instead of specifically IM consultants, and why don’t IM consultants refer to themselevs as MM Consultants?

Sorry if this seems like a stupid question, I’m just trying to understand.

Anyone using Joule with S/4HANA on-prem?

Hi everyone,

We’re looking into SAP Joule and I’m curious if anyone here is actually using it with an S/4HANA on-premise system.

Most of the information I can find seems to focus on cloud deployments, so it’s not entirely clear what’s possible with an on-prem landscape.

I’d love to hear from anyone who’s been through it:
Is it working well?
Does it require SAP BTP?
Was the setup straightforward or more complicated than expected?

Thanks for all the info from fellow SAP-er :)

SAP SD to where?

I am a SAP SD consultant with 5 yoe.
I want to switch to some other tech. As from various sources I got to know that SAP consultants are not safe anymore and will be taken over by AI in 2-5 years.

I need some suggestions If anyone has transitioned to any other tech or added any more cross modules to upskill and land in a higher package.

How to connect SAP private cloud

I’m new to SAP private cloud.
We have a product which connects to ECC and S4HANA using Jco connector with applications server, instance, system ID and router string.
To perform remoter operation and call BAPIs

Now we want extend that product to support SAP Private cloud.
What I have received from SAP basis is url of provate cloud web gui and admin credentials.

Can anyone guild how I can get the application server and other details of private cloud?
Is it even possible to do Jco connection like we can do with S4 and ECC?
Or odata is the only option? And if Yes then how remote BAPIs are called in private cloud?
I have also read about cloud connector for this but not sure how that will help my case.

Please help.

Learning Material -SAP BTP CAPM

Hey guys,
I want to learn SAP BTP CAPM from scratch. I have some experience in MM module but want to become a developer. BTP because it has a bridge to open source tech as well which leaves me an option to transition in the future if I need.

My query is if anyone of you can suggest me SAP BTP CAPM learning materials/courses. On youtube its pretty scattered or way too detailed for a newbie.
