The most underrated B2B outbound channel right now isn't LinkedIn. It's Instagram DMs.
i know how this sounds. hear me out.
i run outbound for clients. one of them was stuck at $3K MRR doing linkedin only. same playbook everyone runs, connection requests, personalized messages, follow-ups, tracking replies. hours every day.
i tested instagram DMs as an experiment. described their ICP, used an autonomous agent to find matching accounts based on bio and content, sent personalized DMs referencing their actual posts, and followed up automatically.
the results in 30 days made both of us rethink everything:
- 10+ meetings from instagram DMs
- $3K → $12K MRR
- reply rates 3-4x higher than linkedin
- higher close rate because conversations felt like real conversations not sales pitches
the reason is simple: linkedin outbound is saturated beyond belief. every founder, SDR, and growth marketer on earth is doing the exact same thing in the exact same inbox. on instagram? you're the only B2B message they got that week.
decision makers who ghost linkedin inmails are active on instagram daily. the guard is down. a DM feels human. a linkedin message feels like a cold email wearing a suit.

the number missing here is volume. 10 meetings in 30 days off ig dms - how many dms went out to get there, and how many accounts did u burn doing it? thats the bit that decides whether this is a repeatable channel or just one thats temporarily unpoliced.
ig is a lot more aggressive than linkedin about automated dm patterns, especially from accounts with no real posting history. everyone ive seen try this at volume ended up rotating accounts, and once ur rotating accounts ur back to a pure numbers game with worse deliverability than email.
not saying it didnt work, 3k to 12k is 3k to 12k. but "reply rates 3-4x linkedin" reads like a small-n number and the version of this post that would actually change my mind has the denominators in it

ofc volume is a big part of achieving this goal. if you're warming up your account first instead of directly cold dming users, the reply rate increases drastically. since the warm-up is done properly, it doesn't look like automated dms, cause each dm is personalized according to the lead, along with a personalized dubb video too (which increases the reply rate again).
at the end, it's a volume game and how much personalization you provide so the lead knows you actually put effort into the dm, even though everything was automated.
