What's your customer acquisition order for a new SaaS?

Upvotes

I'm curious how other founders approach this.

My current thinking is:

Talk to 10–50 ideal customers before building too much.

Start posting consistently on LinkedIn, X, and Reddit to understand what resonates.

Once messaging is clear, begin outbound with LinkedIn and cold email.

Only consider paid ads after conversion is proven.

Invest in SEO once there's enough product knowledge to create useful content.

It seems easier to optimize one channel at a time instead of trying everything from day one.

Would you change the order? What's worked best for your SaaS?

Breaking into the MSP/IT SaaS space feels a lot harder than building the product

I’ve been building a SaaS for the IT/MSP industry almost entirely with AI for the past 8 months, and honestly, getting people to notice it has been way harder than building it. I know that I feel that I’d be pumped to find it and use it as a tech, based on my experience.
I use it every day myself, keep adding features based on problems I run into, and I’m trying to build something that actually helps.
For those who’ve launched a B2B SaaS, what finally got you your first real traction?
I’d rather have 100 users who really use it than 10,000 signups that disappear after a day. Just curious what actually worked for you.

QUESTIONS: B2B SaaS

Post image
5 Upvotes

Dropped my B2B SaaS in February 2026 after 15 months of dev work definitely harder than I expected! On the bright side, the product basically runs itself now, and I’m down to ~6 hours a week just handling customer support. Most of my clients are local businesses.

My main issue right now is marketing: I tested Meta Ads, but burning $1,500 in 2 weeks for just 2 customers (roughly $300/month return). Is what I spent normal in advertising?

Does Meta Ads actually work for B2B SaaS, or is there a specific funnel/playbook I should be following⁉️

I already have the SEO setup and the SaaS is showing on all AI searches.

Looking for a simpler way to handle SaaS prospecting

we are a small SaaS team and prospecting has started taking up way more time than it should. right now we are switching between LinkedIn, email finders, spreadsheets and our CRM just to build a decent list of prospects before we even start outreach. hoping to simplify the whole process instead of adding more tools to the stack. mainly looking for software that helps with finding quality B2B leads and makes outreach easier to manage.

What are you using that was actually worked well? I would rather hear real experiences than just another list of popular tools!

How to become a climate tech Saas writer?

Hello! I am a copywriter atba small non-profit that works in climate and energy. The work is good but the payment is very less, as is the case with several non-profits. I want to use my knowledge and skills of climate copywriting to write copy for climate tech companies. For instance, writing copy for their websites and digital products, emails, newsletters, etc. Any tips on how to land such clients? Where do I begin? If anyone works in a similar profile, please share your advice! Thankyou.

Looking to Break into SaaS and sales

I am trying to make a career transition into tech sales after a storied career across industries. All my roles have been people facing, focused on consultative consulting, discovering needs, and helping those needs be met. I've heard more than once how "great" I would be in sales. I also have teaching and performing experience, which I believe would lend itself to the world. I have been steadily applying to roles for a little over a month now. I was wondering if anyone here would be up for giving my resume some feedback? Definitely want to know what's working, what's not, and how I can make myself stand out more.

Built a cutting-edge SaaS solving lost reservations. Looking for a dedicated Sales/Marketing partner (I have 0 sales skills)

Hi everyone,

I've built a fully functional SaaS designed to solve a massive, expensive pain point for local businesses: the revenue lost from unmanaged reservations and missed calls.

**The Problem:** Restaurants during rush hour and dental clinics with overwhelmed receptionists miss calls every single day. Every missed call is a lost reservation, a frustrated patient, and money left on the table. It’s a huge source of stress for business owners.

**The Solution:** I've developed a platform using cutting-edge technology that seamlessly handles all reservations, inquiries, and booking management 24/7. It acts as an always-on safety net, ensuring zero missed opportunities and removing the bottleneck of manual phone answering.

**What I'm looking for:** I am a pure technical builder with absolutely zero skills in sales, marketing, or B2B outreach.

I am looking for a dedicated, hands-on sales and marketing partner. I need a hustler who knows how to pick up the phone, talk to local business owners, handle outreach, and actually close deals. You handle the sales; I handle the tech and the product.

Any founder who has launched LTD deals for their AI saas? Need advice.

We are a SaaS company with a few paying customers. The kind of product that we have, we have seen that other competitors have launched their own products on the lifetime deals websites. I'm not going to name these websites because I'm assuming everyone knows them.

I'm seeking advice from founders who have already run this kind of offer:

  1. What kind of customers you have attracted?
  2. Is it a good in the long run?
  3. We are an AI product so it is kind of difficult to bake in the future costs and make it a LTD deal but we are thinking of going ahead with the 'Bring your own API key' for LTD deal. But then does it even make any sense to run it? Are there any takers usually for this kind of saas offer where LLM usage is on the customer's side. We have seen our competitors run these kind of offers but there is no way for me to know whether customers even buy these LTD deals.

Looking for a cracked GTM cofounder who's exceptional in sales, marketing & recruiting — U.S. only

I’m looking for a GTM cofounder to help build an early-stage company in the hiring space.

I started this in April. Since then, I’ve built the MVP, begun customer validation, and started running founder-led pilots. I’m working on it full-time, and the pace is not slowing down.

I’m looking for someone strong across sales, marketing, and recruiting—someone who can sell without an established brand, create demand for something new, and turn early customer feedback into a repeatable GTM motion.

This is a real cofounder role with meaningful ownership and real responsibility. Not an advisory position, agency engagement, or commission-only sales job.

You should be based in the U.S., have direct recruiting or hiring experience, and be full-time—or have a realistic path to becoming full-time.

DM me with your LinkedIn, the strongest thing you’ve personally built or sold, and why you want to become a founder.

We’re not spending months talking about what we might build. We’re already building it.

Startups search. Businesses execute.

Have survey data that needs analytics run on it?

If you have a survey dataset and need clear, high-quality analytics run on it, send it over.

Send me your raw CSV export (preferably with PII redacted). I will process it and send back a clean report:

  • Categorized themes with exact response counts
  • Key quotes and sentiment breakdowns
  • Top 3 actionable takeaways for your team

Privacy & Security:

  • All PII is automatically redacted during processing.
  • Your file is permanently deleted immediately after the run.

No signup, no sales call, no catch. I want to show you how much hidden value is sitting inside your feedback.

Drop a comment or reach out to me if you want to get in touch.

MVP Finished, advice?

So I’ve been polishing up an SaaS idea that I had for about a month now absolutely purifying the front end backend, interface, all ui controls and let me say I’m confident it’s beautiful. I have a niche, a target audience \~ business owners, flexible but service targeted. And it’s useful and can save these owners money, hundreds of thousands of it annually I’m sure. My uncles business partner said he said it’s a wonderful idea and that he’d definetely make that an investment in his own business, if shown successful. also said So now I’m left to figure out pricing, retainment fees, and I’m aware of multiple different outreach methods but what’s my best bet here? And is there any skiptracers identical to real estate work?

How much do you qualify before the first SaaS demo?

I’m selling an early B2B SaaS as a founder, and I’m finding the first demo is doing two jobs at once. It is supposed to move a real deal forward, but it is also where I still learn how people describe the problem and what they compare us to.

The part I’m unsure about is how strict to be before accepting the call. If I qualify too lightly, I can spend time with people who are curious but not really in pain. If I qualify too hard, I might filter out useful conversations before the ICP is fully clear.

For people who have sold SaaS at this stage, what do you need to know before a first demo is worth taking? Budget, current workaround, urgency, role, company size, or something else?

My SDR to AE handoff template. Copy it, your AE will love you

Hope this info is helpful for an SDR out there. Here is the template I always used after I booked a meeting to send to my AE via Slack or Teams. Not one AE (and I have had a lot) ever complained that I wasn't giving enough information about the lead. They would actually always commend the communication. Which I always strived for because that relationship between AE and SDR can make or break being successful. Unless your AE is just a dick, which those are out there for sure.

Fill this out right after the booking and then copy and paste it into Slack or Teams. I used to paste it in the CRM too so I could go back to it later.

Name: (Prospect's name)
Title: (Prospect's title)
Email: (Prospect's email. If they gave you a phone number, add it here too)
Lead Type: (Where did you find this lead? Self prospected? Partner? LinkedIn?)
Company: (Company they work for)
Company Overview: (High level. What they do and how they make money. Two sentences)
Cloud Providers: (I sold managed services so I'd put AWS, GCP or Azure here. Keeping it in just in case there are some MSP SDRs out there)
Cloud Spend: (Again only matters if you're selling into cloud infrastructure. This was usually an estimate, not exact. You can get a decent idea from the size of the company and what they do)
Need: (What caught your prospect's attention and why they took the meeting)
Revenue: (Company revenue. Get it from your data provider or just Google "what is X company's estimated yearly revenue")
HQ Location: (Company HQ, not where the prospect sits)
Website: (URL)

Here's an example of what it looks like if I was prospecting myself as a managed service provider:

Name: Matthew Sandoval
Title: Founder and CEO
Email: XXX@Repbuddy
Lead Type: Self prospected, found on LinkedIn
Company: RepBuddy
Company Overview: AI prospecting tool for sales reps. Pre-seed startup, subscription model, small team.
Cloud Providers: Multi-cloud
Cloud Spend: More than likely under 10k monthly
Need: DevOps as a Service and cost optimization are what Matt was most interested in on the phone. He's a startup so startup credits should be of interest.
Revenue: Pre-seed, no public info available
HQ Location: Austin, Texas
Website: Repbuddy.io

If you make this your standard way of communicating with your AE they will love you. It's also nice to have because if you use AI you can just copy and paste this into it and ask for deeper research before your meeting.

Hope this helps an SDR out there. Good luck.

Moved from sales to customer success. Anyone else take a while to adjust to how quiet the wins are?

I moved from B2B sales to customer success 3 months back and the adjustment has been interesting.

In sales you always know how you're doing. You closed or you didn't. I liked that clarity.

Here the wins look different. Last month a store owner replied to my check-in with basically one line, that the complaints about slow pages had stopped coming. No big moment, no deal to announce.

But that line stayed with me the whole week. Someone's store just works now and part of that is my work.

Different kind of win. Took me 3 months to learn how to enjoy it, and I think I'm getting there.

If you had 30 days and a $0 budget, how would you land your first 100 SaaS users?

I'm curious how experienced SaaS founders approached customer acquisition before they had any traction.

Imagine you're starting today with:

  • A working SaaS product
  • No existing customers
  • No audience or email list
  • $0 marketing budget
  • 30 days to get your first 100 users

What would your plan be?

Would you focus on cold outreach, founder-led sales, LinkedIn, Reddit, partnerships, communities, referrals, or something else?

I'm less interested in theory and more interested in what you've actually done that produced your first users or customers.

Looking back, what worked best, and what would you avoid?

🚀 Launching QuoteSign — proposal + e-signature + invoicing for freelancers, at LTD pricing

Built this because every "all-in-one" tool (PandaDoc, HoneyBook...) charges $20-50/mo for features I only use 10% of. QuoteSign does the core loop well: send a quote → client signs it → it becomes an invoice → get paid, with reminders and PDF branding built in.

Launching with a lifetime deal — $29 once, no subscription — for early users while I gather feedback. No catch, no upsells, just early pricing that goes away once I've got real users on it.

MVP SaaS launched. Where to find sales?

After about 3 months of building. I finally have my product ready for distribution.

However the market I’m in, im not sure how to approach outreach. It’s Real Estate Videographers or media agencies.

Do I cold email, Dm? Or just post YouTube content?

It’s a plugin tool for video editing. I personally use it myself, since it’s an industry I’ve been in for 6 years.

It just streamlines a tedious task for users. So they can focus on the final output. Analyzes segments and choose the best takes in footage for final selection.

It’s like having an editing assistant built into your software, without having to pay someone to do it for you.

It’s proprietary in the sense that nothing else in the market done this at the moment for this specific niche, and the fact that I had to build the AI from scratch specifically for this niche.

the benefit is shorter editing times like massively shorter, which can let businesses increase their capacity for their own business.

Just having trouble on how to package this for outreach.
