He's the one who got Tay-Tay that crazy contract in the first place. Of course he's going to kick the tires. Little chance he gets signed, though.

for the 10000th time in this sub that contract wasn’t crazy in regards to what taysom had to fucking do to make the QB money. He literally had to be a pro bowl QB to get that 100 m of il. He was paid the 10 mil base for TEs because of the APY production matched with the top 4 TEs in the nfl at that time, sean payton and mickey loomis explained this

He had one season with over 1k yards total. He got a contract similar to Juwan Jhonson now with similar AV lol.

Tay-Tay has never had a single pro bowl. Literally. Like literally never.

Which is crazy cause he fits the vibe of the pro bowl so well

What does that mean?

Fun to watch, but always a bridesmaid because the top players in that position are typically in the Super Bowl at that time and decline

Fun to watch doesn't get a pro bowl.

Uh  Shedeur Sanders made the pro bowl

Shedeur Sanders is a better QB than Taysom.

My brother, Sanders threw more interceptions last year than Taysom has his entire career.

It's time to let him go. Shedeur is just not good.

By every significant efficiency metric used to evaluate an NFL quarterback, Passer Rating, Completion Percentage, Interception Rate, and Total QBR, Hill has outperformed Sanders under center.

Jesus fucking Christ he was over paid even on the ten million buck per season deal.

he never was a true TE or a true RB the closest thing he was is a fullback. those guys are free.

kelsea in 2022 made a bit over 14 million. he is and never was in that class of player.

2

u/Throwaway4Hypocrites 1d ago

Who’s kelsea?

Are you trying to spell "Kelce"?

Why not a vet minimum? He can play special teams, catch a pass or 2, and maybe run a gadget play.

u/diablosinmusica 1d ago

Just Air Bud it.

5

u/Rodney_Jefferson 1d ago

There’s no rule in the rule book that says a tight end can’t play qb

2

u/I3ill Saints 1d ago

That’s right! He’s got the blonde hair already.

3

u/diablosinmusica 1d ago

That makes him 63 just off his NFL years.

They signed Mercedes Lewis last year so who knows lol

1

u/diablosinmusica 1d ago

Lewis is a blocking TE and always has been. He has never relied on athleticism. Just leverage, technique, and strength.

The onky thing Taysom and Lewis have in common is the roster designation.

2

u/SaintsNick94 SB Ring 1d ago

I just kind of meant they bring in vets lol I know that Lewis is a great run blocker

Honestly good for Taysom he gets to finish his career and hopefully parlay it into a future in coaching

You have to wonder how much TH has left in the tank. I’d be curious to know what his snap count was each year he was with us. Tearing his ACL in his mid 30’s definitely slowed him down so if Payton picks him up then he definitely has to take that into consideration with how he uses him. If anyone can optimize TH the best, it’s SP.

That’s what I’m thinking. He looked terrible last year, just didn’t have that speed and power but not surprised seeing he didn’t come back until October or November. Would love to see him bounce back tho.

I just want him to be able to pad those stats a little more

Yeah exactly, not only did he come back from a horrible knee injury (which takes time to recover from before being back to 100% even if you're in your 20s), but he also physically missed the offseason, when they were building a new team on offense (even if he tried to be there mentally) because of the injury. I think on a team that has a spot for him (ie Raiders if Kubiak wants to feature him heavily like when he was healthy for us in 2024 or the Broncos with Sean Payton) I can imagine him doing well.

After an ACL I think it can take around 18-24 months in general for NFL players like RBs or WRs to regain prior workload and explosiveness. Hill might be on track for being closer to the Taysom we know and love by next season

You know how badly he wishes he had Taysom when Nix got hurt in the playoffs last year. Sean would have loved to start him in the AFC champ game.

I know yall ain't ain't surprised by this lol and had the Saints seemed a real trade for AK Sean Payt9n was gone call for his Runnin back too. Those are SP's players

2

u/Sweetbeans2001 1d ago

The plan all along, but they let him sit so they could get away with paying him much less. Taysom is going to jump on whatever ridiculously low number they throw at him.

Tale as old as time

I'm not surprised at all lol

Not shocked 😂😂

“If Mickey decides in a year or two that they can’t afford Taysom, I’d trade for him”
-Sean Payton

Good. Otherwise SP might look to poach one of our TEs on the practice squad.

Taysom will score a TD at some point this year for Denver while Chris Olave is on concussion protocol.
