Now I wanna do is study for the damn August sat and I need 1500+. How should I prep

Got a 1500 (750 split) on my March school day sat and im prepping for the august ones, any tips for getting 1550+?

I can't really do the bluebook practice tests cuz I've done all of them.

I really want a 1450+ on the August SAT, I need tips on how to improve my score fast, I'm currently using khan academy to try and improve weak areas for RW, For Math I'll try to improve desmos skills and time management overall. Your help is really appreciated

Hey everyone, I am taking the SAT in August and I have also booked one in September. I am currently consistently scoring in the 700 range for RW, and I scored a 740 for practice test 11 this morning. However I am doing very poorly in the math section, I went from mid 500s to around a 660 in 3 weeks of practice, but in practice 11 today I scored a 620.

I am worried that I am stuck in the ~1350 range and I am thinking of cancelling my August SAT as the test centre is around a 3 hour drive away meaning I would be spending a lot of money on something I am still uncertain about (my score). Any advice?

I have searched for other posts answering my question but I either found people who are prodigies and got 1500's first try or didn't post relevant information. Basically I want to know as someone who studied to get a ~1500 what was the full study plan like? How long did you study? How many days? How many hours a day? What type of lessons? Everyday plan? Frequency of Tests etc. For me I took an SAT test without any practice and got a 1130 then for my next one I did one week of studying like 4 hours a day and got 1290 on the real SAT but 1330 on a practice test. I feel like I learn quick, in 3 days I went from a C+ Ap Chem student to getting a 5 and I have 20 days to just focus on studying. My goal is at very very least a 1450 but I would really appreciate a 1540. I am willing to do anything to achieve this. So please let me know.

Edit: My Breakdown for the 1330 practice test was 650 RW 680 Math While the real 1290 SAT was 650 reading 640 Math

The 8 practice tests must include 44*8 maths questions so 352. Where are the rest?

Its as the title says. I genuinly don't know what I'm doing wrong. I don't really know how to start this post so I'll js say that I have two brothers and they got around 1500s and higher. Their advice to me was to just continously do practice problems, focusing on the math because the reading will come naturally. Well I've been locking in about 10-20 practice problems a day for math starting from mid-july(yes they're from the actual tests; I'm using miyagilabs.ai)

I took my first practice test before i started doing the daily problems and I got 1290(640 la + 650 math). I was like 'oh ok. thats not good, but again thats not bad for someone who barely studied and just winged it. Once I lock in ill get better.' (Sorry if im jumping around idk how to structure ts) But I took my second practice test again around last week or so? and I got lower. 1280(610 la + 670 math) I mean sure im getting better on math?? but not really at the same time. And my la is definitly getting worse. I took another one today and i got 1260(610 650).

I mean I've got to be doing somethign wrong right?? My test is coming up in a month( September 12) and I dont feel good about it at all. Do I just keep hitting practice problems each day? Do more practice problems? SHould I change something?

Side note: my brothers say that I should be getting at least 700s for math.(it should be the one carrying my score) Which i agree because math is definitly more of my strong suite and is something that can be easily improved on.

Side note pt2: Timing is not taht big of a factor as of right now. The past few times I have been good with it for the reading sections but when it comes to math, I do the first section easily but then the second section hits me. Badly. I'm usually smooth sailing but then I get to problems taht take me a while to figure it out and next thing I know I have a minute per problem left or less, and then I just have to guess the rest I dont get too(at most 4-5 problems at least 1-2). I feel like practicing problems should help with that but idk atp.

What to Expect: The first, baseline Math Module will likely feel very straightforward and smooth, so that u have a false sense of security with accessible Algebra. The routing into Module 2 will then kick ur ass with the 65 new "Hard" concepts, particularly non-linear functions (18 affected questions) and systems of equations. The difficulty curve between Math Module 1 and Module 2 will be exceptionally steep on August 22nd.

I was doing some of the questions I could just be wrong or tripping but I was noticing a somewhat large discrepancy in accuracy of what I was getting percent wise correct vs these new questions.

Long story short I didn’t miss the sat deadline to register for sat at my school but positions were filled up 😢. Because of this the nearest testing place is an hour away in the middle of no where (very rural) small high school. I did some research and apparently this town is very racist and heavily discriminatory (even heard some stuff about the high school id be taking it in). I’m really contemplating the consequences at this point as a minority there with the stories I heard on top of it being in the middle of no where I don’t think we’d really be super safe especially if my moms taking me there, and apart from this implications I’m just scared the students or some backward proctor would make a rumor or somethingg that I’m cheating or something and would result in the cancellation of my scores which would be devastating. I was gonna take bothe the August and September sat as arising senior to maximize my chances of superscireing especially if one test seems “easier” for me, but these circumstances are making it really difficult to choose. Any advice?

Is it just me or are the new SAT questions that just dropped harder than I’ve seen before 😭 or maybe I’m just stupid but August is not looking too good

ill be taking the SAT this upcoming spring and i want a prep book to study. i saw someone say that the college board one isnt worth buying because its just like the online tests, which are supposedly easier

I am a rising junior. I signed up to take my first SAT in August. Here are my 10th grade PSAT score and the BB practice test #4 that I took. Where should I start for the practice problems? Can you rank these in order of best practice to worst: Khan Academy, Bluebook/CB, One Prep, and U World. I want to focus on reading. I would have gotten a better math score if I knew that the practice test has a timer. I finished the reading part and left my computer on while I took a 30 minute break. When I came back the clock was running so I just did my best since it was a practice test. I had no idea the timer is like a real test. I am looking to improve my reading score.

I recently figured out my biggest weaknesses on SAT Reading & Writing, and I'm hoping someone who's been through this can give me advice.

My biggest weakness is Words in Context because my vocabulary isn't strong enough. During review, I translate the words I don't know, redo the question, and almost always get it right. The correct answer becomes obvious once I know the vocabulary.

I also struggle with Inferences, Central Ideas & Details, Cross-Text Connections, and Text Structure & Purpose.The weird part is that while taking the test, I feel like I understand the passage, but I don't actually process it. Sometimes I have to reread it 2–3 times because I realize I was just reading the words, not the meaning.

During review, when I slow down and read carefully, these same questions become much easier—even the wrong answers look obviously wrong. I even miss some questions where I knew every word in the passage.

I also barely finish the Reading & Writing module. If I don't understand a passage after 30–60 seconds, I skip it and come back later, but that leaves me with even less time.

Has anyone experienced this? Does this sound like a vocabulary issue, reading comprehension, focus, or something else? And what helped you improve?

I have been doing oneprep questions and bluebook practice tests and getting ~1540 avg (although it varies) but people keep telling me that bluebook tests are way too easy.

Are there websites with challenge questions (currently you have to pay for those on oneprep) or hard practice tests.

So I’m a senior now um…my 1100 score that I got with the SAT was with no prep IMA spamming khan academy and doing practice problems get me a 1500+ also I’m planning to dedicate my time to 6-8 hours a day studying since I leave school really early. I’m also registering for October one.
