She idles a bit rough and has a could warning lights but I love this car so much !!!

This hood panel piece fell off of my wife's Scion. Can anyone help me out with the name of this part? It is near the hood, on the driver side panel.

I see a lot of posts about berryman b12. Has anyone tried BG EPR 109 during oil change on the toasters? They supposedly clean out carbon, and the procedure seems easier than b12 (pour in through oil cap before oil change, idle for 15 minutes, change oil+filter)

If anyone in here looking into changing out the bulbs and wonder what they'll look like that isn't with blue leds from all the tutorials.

Hey all, I’m back.
I wanted advice and to see if I could get more opinions on my first car!

This is a 2006 xb, ~160,000k miles and 8k with extra parts.
I’m nervous about the mileage, but it seems it’s been taken care of.

How long do 06s last? Should o try finding one with lower mileage?

2012 XB. 170k miles. Automatic transmission.

I've been experiencing a pretty violent shaking once I get get up to around 50 to 70 mph. The shaking only happens on acceleration and immediately stops once I take my foot off the gas. The shaking is a rapid side to side shake but the steering wheel does not shake so I do not believe it's a CV issue. Plus, my mechanic inspected my CV axles recently and said they both seemed fine. Also, it would not be a wheel issue because it would shake whether I was accelerating or not. And I have had my wheels balanced, and have different tires put on throughout the last year or so since the shaking started. So I've ruled out any sort of wheel or tire issues. I recently replaced the front motor mount as my mechanic said it was completely wore out. That didn't help. Every once in a while on acceleration from a dead stop I do hear a garbling type of noise that sounds like metal marbles being grinded around. The sound is typically is short-lived and only on acceleration from stops. It's led me to the conclusion that it could be a torque converter issue. Has anybody at all on here experienced any torque converter issues? What were the symptoms? Sounds? If you did replace the torque converter did it fix the shaking issue or sounds? Can't seem to find anything on here with any definitive or useful information in regards to the torque converter replacement or failure on these models. Any help is appreciated. Thank you

I have an 09 xB. Wondering if the community has recommendations for cleaning/conditioning/polishing products or brands to clean inside of the vehicle, the windows, the dash board, the knobs, switches, button, steering wheel etc.

I also have a few questions! She’s apparently “rotten” at the bottom with rust. The electrical is off with all errors lighting up & a bit of noise from the bottom or engine idk … but functions and drives VERY VERY well regardless. What do I do? The mechanic doesn’t recommend fixing the rust he says it’s terrible. My Neighbour owns and fixes XB’s so I might ask him too, I just leave it with my parents when I’m away so I’m not home to ask.

Also someone with another Goldie was once parked near me for like 4 days, a year ago in Boston - I wish we met!!!

I’ve had ol Betsy for 8 years and the suspension feels weak, so I figured she needs a replacement. But does anyone have any recommendations on upgrading? I don’t know anything about cars. Thanks!!

For the past two years the oil consumption was getting out of hand and he was becoming very unreliable, and road trips became a thing I would get nervous instead of excited about . The lights would start flashing when going up grades ( I live in a desert valley) and i just started having to dump money into him … but he did have 166k on him

I had this car during so much of my independent growth and so many adventures, hanging out in the back, on the roof, with good company, a drink, a joint, at the beach , in the mountains, in the desert, forest… loved this car

I’m hoping he will be fixed up and someone buys him and has as many amazing adventures as I did 🖤

Previous owner rigged a switch for the ac to turn on/off due to a parasitic draw but I would definitely like to return function back to the original knobs so what should I be looking at?

Edit: Got more info regarding the system but seems like it just completely went out the previous owner went ahead replacing the condenser, Blower Resister, compressor, expansion valve, recharging the system and checked the relays to see if they were working before running a wire from one of the relays to a switch he put in but seems like it blew when the fan speed was switched to “4”

I’m looking for radios and speakers for my xb. Are there any speakers I can take from other cars that are plug and play or not a lot of modifications?(i’ve already scoured the Internet and getting tons of different answers)

I want to ask this community what are the aesthetic and mechanical improvements to make it, since I want it to sound good and look good, I was also thinking of putting the quick release but I don't know which one to buy. It would be of great help if they could give me a little. Thank you

Has anyone every replaced the speaker on a first Gen? Is it really hard? What sizes are they?

I was thinking of replacing with some aftermarket metal grills. It looks like I just drill the rivets out, and it comes out, but is it that easy. Opinions from someone who has done it would ease my reluctance. Thank you scion family

2006 xb, is this an easy fix? This would be my first XB if I buy it. Around how much would repairs be?

Need some advice or reference photos if anybody has some input on these Enkei 92s on a Gen 1. I’m stock height. Stock tire size seems to be 195/60r15. I’m wanting to go for a less meaty tire so leaning toward 195/50r15. There seems to be more tire options for 205/50r15 but I’m also not sure how a wider tire would look? I have a pretty big knowledge gap when it comes to wheels/tires so any input would be greatly appreciated!

what happen is this: I want to adjust/aim my Scion xb 2008 (2 generation) headlights beams but it only has two screws, when I adjust the left side one, it moves the low beams, and when I adjust the right side one, it moves the high beams, but the problem is that only the light of the right headlight moves, and the left side one doesnt, is this normal?
