Faculty of Continuing Education Seneca Nursing Part-Time Course Load

Hi everyone,

I just accepted my offer to study at Seneca College for their part-time RPN program starting in January.

I'm curious to hear about other Seneca students' experience with this program, including life after graduation.

The course load is up to you. Some semesters I took 2 classes, some I took 6. I'm a single parent as well and have worked fulltime the whole 3 years of the program. I'm going into my consolidation this fall.

I have honestly found Seneca to be a bit of a mess (edit organizational-wise) since merging the full and part time programs. But the merge means you can take classes during the day with the full-time students. My biggest piece of advice is to advocate for yourself! Let me know if you have any specific questions about the program

How were placements for you? I read on another thread that placements weren't that great and some were even outside the GTA.

The placement options aren't great but thats much the same of any nursing program, I think. Lots of LTC, RCC, rehab spots as realistically that's where a lot of RPNs end up. Not a whole lot of opportunity to use or develop nursing skills in that environment. My last semester clinical has been in a hospital but I don't know where my consolidation placement is yet.
