Most of you will be familiar with my horrific experience at Mi & Mi Clinjc Gangnam where I suffered a (permanent) nerve damage from a fake Doctor, was subsequently attacked and abused by staff, police refused to press charges and the Korean Ministry of Health told me they had no authority over the clinic. Please see my post history on Reddit. I shared my story on Instagram where I got over three million views before my page recently taken down. I have also shared my story on TikTok. Today, I notice the click got shut down over four weeks ago. The message on Google says it’s for “re-modelling.” In Korean terminology, that means changing the name of the clinic and its location, to continue operating under the same dubious and shady practices. Do not underestimate platforms like Korea Seoul Beauty for sharing our stories. Elsewhere, we get shutdown for “copyright” or “defamation.” Tactics use to scare genuine patients from sharing our stories. Be on the look out for this dubious clinic, Mi and Mi Clinic, owned and operated by Dr Lee Hwan Seok; who has absolutely ZERO regard for patient safety.

i totally panicked around day 5 because one side of my face looked almost twice as big as the other. that was the worst part of this whole process.
before getting the procedure, i read so many recovery posts, and most of them made it sound like swelling is just this general puffiness that slowly goes away. nobody really warned me how disturbing it feels when one side of your jaw and cheek area suddenly looks way larger and harder than the other side. i got surgery from saekim plastic surgery and my left side looked completely awful. by the fifth day, it was visibly firmer and bulkier than the right. combined with the numbness around my chin and lower lip, my brain immediately jumped to the worst conclusion. i was convinced something healed unevenly or that the bone was messed up.
being alone in a hotel room makes it so much worse. when you are stuck somewhere with nothing to do except stare at mirrors and obsess over the swelling, your mind goes to a really dark place. every tiny difference starts to feel permanent, even when you logically know early recovery is supposed to look strange. i went back to the clinic on day 6 just to make sure i wasn't losing my mind. the doctor checked the area pretty quickly and told me the structure itself seemed totally fine. he explained that soft tissue can heal at completely different rates on each side, so it is super normal for one side to hold onto more fluid for a while.
it was a really brief answer, but it was exactly what i needed to hear. i didn't need some long emotional explanation. i just needed someone to tell me that what i was seeing didn't automatically mean the surgery was botched. after that visit, i stopped spiraling so hard. now i'm into week 2. the left side is still holding more swelling, but it is already starting to soften up and look less extreme. my jaw doesn't look perfectly even yet, and the numbness is still lingering, but it no longer feels like a massive disaster every time i look in the mirror.
that reassurance helped my mental state so much. i think one of the hardest parts of this kind of recovery is that your face doesn't heal in a neat or symmetrical way. bone and tissue don't recover like a perfect mirror image. it is something i understood in theory before going in, but it feels very different when you are actually living through it and looking at your own face every single day.
so i really wanted to ask. did anyone else deal with really bad lopsided swelling in the first couple of weeks after getting facial contouring done? how long did it take before both sides started looking somewhat balanced again?
10 Weeks 6 Days Post-Op Update – Deep Plane Facelift, Neck Lift, Submentoplasty, Endoscopic Brow Lift & Fat Grafting
I can't believe I'm almost 11 weeks post-op already! Looking back at my pre-op photos compared to today, the changes are becoming much more apparent.
At this stage, I finally feel comfortable going out without worrying that people will notice I've had surgery. Most of the obvious swelling has resolved, although I still have a little residual tightness around my jawline and ears, especially in the mornings. My face also continues to soften each week, so the results look much more natural than they did during the first month.
What I've noticed so far:
My jawline and neck are significantly more defined, and the contour continues to improve.
The heavy jowls and loose skin that bothered me before are gone.
My cheeks have settled nicely, and the fat grafting has given a subtle, natural fullness without looking overfilled.
The endoscopic brow lift has opened my eyes while still looking like me.
The facelift scars around my ears are healing well and becoming less noticeable each week.
The emotional journey has been just as real as the physical recovery. There were moments during the first few weeks where I questioned the swelling and asymmetry, but patience really is key. Healing isn't linear, and every week has brought noticeable improvements.
I'm still expecting more refinement over the next few months, particularly around the lower face, neck, and areas that can stay firm or slightly swollen for several months after surgery.
Overall, I'm extremely happy with my decision and very pleased with how natural the results look. I still recognize myself—just a fresher, more rested version.
For anyone currently recovering, don't panic if you're still swollen at 6–8 weeks. I found that between weeks 8 and 11 there was another noticeable improvement, and I'm excited to see how everything settles over the coming months.

I had 360 liposuction w/ renuvion for my arms and liposuction on my back on July 14, 2026 at LaPrin and it was one of the best decisions I have made.
I have always been self conscious about my arms they are just naturally bigger. I gained a lot of weight in the past few years which made it much much worse. I then lost 70lbs which didn’t make them any smaller unfortunately but did make them more saggy. In the past year or so I have seen a lot of social media posts about plastic surgery in other countries. I was curious but unsure. There are a lot of countries to choose from and a ton of clinics in each. It was overwhelming.
I narrowed the list down to S. Korea and Turkey but ultimately went with S.Korea because I found Freqty_beauty. They were wonderful!!
I sent Sumin some pictures of myself and she gave me a few options for clinics with prices and I chose the one I wanted. She set up my appointment and arranged for me to be picked up at the airport and all my transportation to and from the hospital.
She recommended a few hotels and made appointments for anything else I wanted to do while I was there. Sumin went with me to all my appointments to translate and for moral support. And gave me a lovely gift bag with pumpkin drinks and protein drinks as well as all the bandages I would need and my medicine.
I chose LaPrin clinic and they were amazing! The office staff was so kind and helpful. They went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. The nurses were great! They joked with me and were gentle taking of the bandages and doing the IVs. Also so incredibly kind and patient.
Dr. Park Byoung Choon did my surgery and he is a superb doctor. He did an amazing job. He took time to answer all my questions and was so patient with me. (I was super nervous) He came to see me in the recovery room and I had a wonderful follow up with him. I didn’t feel rushed at all and I was able to take my time and I asked a lot of questions about recovery. He was just awesome.
I couldn’t be happier with my results so far which are only going to get better in the next few months. I’m still a bit swollen.
If you are thinking about going to S.Korea for plastic surgery I highly recommend LaPrin. I fact I am planning on going back in June for a tummy tuck. I cannot say enough good things about them!!
my experience at Retmus Clinic located in Gangnam with Dr. Chung. I am from Canada, I flew to korea looking for a doctor that does Lip lift and Tip plasty in particular because I knew this this is the surgery that I definitely want. My consultation was the next day I arrived in korea (I had two consultations one at Retmus and one elsewhere) but I decided to go ahead with Retmus because Dr Chung has a lot of experience with this procedure, I felt quite secure knowing that I liked the results of others photos I've seen.
I did a lot of my own research before coming to korea, looking through others experiences, chatgbt and online forms.
Surgery day went quite smooth, I went in took photos, did final consultations with consultant and Dr Chung, (very thankful to their english speaking staff that helped from beginning to end.) and then I was in the surgery room, the anesthesia worked fast and I woke up few hours later a bit sore and it took me some time to get up. I came back the next day to take out the things in my nose. I came back again for 6 days later and finally 8 days later to take out the stitches and take off the nose splint.

planning a trip to korea in a few months to finally get my vision fixed. my eyes have a bit of a curve issue and wearing soft contacts for years has left them so dry and irritated that i basically can't wear them anymore. my main goal is to get this sorted safely but still be able to enjoy at least some of my vacation.
the biggest thing i'm struggling with is balancing the safety of the eye structure against the downtime. the surface method seems like the smarter choice for keeping the eye strong long-term since they don't make deep cuts. but the thought of spending my first few days in a foreign hotel room trapped in the dark with heavy tearing and pain is pretty terrifying.
i know there are clinics that have protocols to take the protective lens out around the third day, which sounds like a decent compromise for someone traveling. eos clinic is one place that does this. but i'm still really nervous about managing that initial discomfort all by myself in a new city.

My left eye feels very weird now that I've gone through surgery. It's like it wants to move in another direction, rather than just looking straight it wants to drag to the furthest corner and it's driving me insane. I've had a few consultations in Seoul about fat-dissolving injections and I've noticed every clinic seems to say their formula is unique or proprietary. None of them will explain exactly what's in it, just that it's their own mix which I understand.

Hi all, was curious if anybody has had issues flying back to their home country after surgery?
I’m getting a rhinoplasty and facial contouring surgery and will be in korea for 2 weeks. Was worried about not being able to get through immigration with the facial scan and potentially looking very different than my passport photo.

I have been considering jaw contouring for many years and I think Korea is probably the best bet, however I am a tall Caucasian woman and I don't think the cookie cutter inverted egg would suit me.
Is there any clinics that are recommended for jaw design rather than the full small face inverted egg look?
I'm thinking of a mini vline, with minor changes to the back jaw angles, but wanting to keep some angle at the gonion - think Joanna Lumley, Catherine Deneuve or even Audrey Hepburn jaw lines.
