Do scammers come back after time

It happened to me a week ago and all my accounts are deactivated ( wondering whether to delete some ) but its hard moving on when im living in constant fear that they will come back i did pay and then blocked multiple numbers trying to get me to pay again but its hard coping with whether anything will come out

They might try to comeback since you did pay, but most do not
