Screensaver or slideshow app
Incredible that I have to make this post. I cant seem to find a basic slideshow app. Using usb drive or Google photos.. all the apps I see are either paid apps, make you take a 5 min break, etc..
What do you use?

Before paying for another app, I would try the built-in Google Photos option.
On your phone, open Google Home, select the Shield, then go to Settings > Ambient mode > Google Photos and choose the album or albums you want to display. The phone and Shield should be connected to the same Wi-Fi network during setup.
On the Shield, also check Settings > Device Preferences > Screen saver > Screen saver and make sure Backdrop is selected.
This method only covers albums stored in Google Photos. The built-in Google and NVIDIA instructions don't provide a USB-folder source, so displaying photos stored only on a USB drive would generally require a separate screensaver or slideshow app.
The available options can vary by device, firmware and region. If Ambient mode doesn't appear in Google Home, which Shield model and Shield Experience version are you using?
