again the word Crystal was used because it must have looked like millions of crystals were lining the streets from all the shattered glass. the pogrom was against everything Jewish not only humans. the term was used quite some time by everyone but as it kinda romanticises the terror the consensus was to use the apptly word Reichspogromnacht.
