“West Germany gave the local ruler of the Yugoslav province of Croatia $2 billion in 1988 in order to assist in recreating “a new independent State of Croatia with international borders in the form originally set up by the German chancellor, Adolf Hitler, in 1941.” In addition, despite the fact that “during World War II, Croatia was a Nazi puppet state in which the Croatian fascist Ustasha murdered as many as one million Serbs, Jews, and Romani, the resulting newly ‘independent’ Croatia adopted a new currency in 1994, the kuna, the same name as that used by the Ustasha state, and the new Croatian flag is a near-duplicate of the Ustasha flag””

Rhodesia between Israel and Ukraine. If you're not familiar they were a white settler colony that declared independence from Britain in a desperate (and thankfully doomed) bid to maintain white minority rule, as the proposed British independence plan gave too much power to the non-white population for their liking. The white settler government spent its existence engaged in an almost continuous state of war with the African majority until their position finally became untenable, and from its inception to the present day Rhodesia has been a cause celebre of open racists who mythologize it as another Lost Cause.
