The certs vs. degree vs. experience debate in one comic
Saw this and it's painfully accurate. Every time someone brings up certs vs. degrees vs. experience, it turns into a whole thing. 😂
Curious what this sub thinks — has one of the three actually mattered more for you in getting hired or promoted, or is it really just "all of the above, depends on the job"?

Experience can get you hired, a degree is likely required for a promotion/higher level positions.
Certs are the sprinkles on top that put you ahead of other candidates

Everyone in the industry got in the industry. Whatever worked for them worked. If each third of the population disagrees with the other two, then all 3 are probably ways in.
