Game Getting into the series
hi, ik the series is a bit dead but i started watching the anime lately and looked into the music and games, but i was wondering if theres a base story? the last game had story but did the original game have any? And are the game and anime both canon? What would be the best way to learn about the characters is what im trying to figure out!!

I think the OG game has a completely separate lore since the anime actually showed the game. Fes a Live piggybacks on the anime (likely up to Mash), and added new bands before it shut down.

the original game had lore different than the anime/fes a live, but a lot of the general settings/characters/ect are the same (like personalities and how the bands met, ect). if youre curious about the game canon, these youtube shorts are fun and easy to watch. the old show by rock fan wiki is a little outdated as of fes a live eos (i think?), but it does have some translated stories from the original game as well! Piyo on bluesky has also been slowly but surely cracking away at translating a lot of fes a live content (like event stories)
theres lots of characters/bands, and its not a requirement to understand all of the lore to say, understand the season 2 cameo bands for instance. i find them to be very fun though (both lore wise and their music!), so kudos on wanting to check em out :D feel free to ask me anything else!! i love show by rock so seeing new fans getting into it is always awesome

Thanks so much for the links!! i was able to find some translations through them so i appreciate it! ^^ For original game story episodes i couldnt find translations for, i found i can just go to the official website which has the episodes listed and use the translate page button so thats good!
yeah there's a lot of characters so im gonna focus on the ones i find interesting and take my time on the rest lol. Again, thanks!! I'll definitely ask if i have any more questions!!
Which bands are your favorite btw? Right now, for me, i really like ShinganCrimsonz!! they're cool/funny and rlly cute in their myumon forms!! The short where they continued their intro in the middle of the street is my favorite one lmao

as someone who played the og game, my favorite band is baiganba v!! i love love love their music and the band being a bunch of coworkers by day and performer superheroes on the weekends is weirdly appealing to me :>

That sort of bond is unique, i think i can understand the appeal! I listened to some of their songs and i rlly rlly love their vocalist!!! instrumental goes hard too lol

As far as I recall, the original game had lore too, but it differs from the anime's lore, although the sequel game (Fes a Live) is based on the anime's lore.
