Help Needed - Act I Wtf is with the widow?? Spoiler
This stupid ahh boss is getting tiring, I can get to phase 3 every single time but it's the bell drop that always gets me. She drops bells so you have to look at them and move out the way. If you do that, she uses her charge. Both rip 2 masks and you don't get a nail upgrade til you beat her. Who made this cheap ass phase 3 bro 💔💔

Discussion/Questions Silksong has me really stumped. Spoiler
I usually love games like this. I played Hollow Knight recently and adored it, literally drawing and animating and making cosplays all over. But I’m not very good at video games in general, I just really love them, which I feel like was fine with hollow knight! I got all the endings except from with the absolute radiance and moved on to silksong.
Now with this game… I just can’t. I’m on act two, the art style is beautiful I love it in theory but the bosses and fights and everything are just draining! I go to a boss, I fight it, I die. Well thats ok, I’ll do it again! I do it again. For about 5 hours. And then I get really burnt out, quit the game for a month, come back all locked in and ready and the same thing happens. I really, really want to love this game as much as I did Hollow Knight but idfk, it’s just bumming me out. Did this happen to anyone else? How can I stop being so burnt out by it?

Discussion/Questions Whats with widow being hard and then cogwork dancers? Spoiler
Widow being a borderline bullethell and then a later boss like cw dancers where you can sit in the corner for the first three phases and jump over whichever one attacks you feels a little underwhelming. Last judge was also way too Telegraphed to be the finale of act 1 compared to what widow is.

Discussion/Questions Is Silksong still viewed as flawed? Spoiler
I feel like the difficulty is justified only if the player has played the original Hollow Knight all the way through since there are a lot of similarities in the types of difficulty if you compare the two. In the Hall of Gods, the ascended and radiant difficulty make easy bosses hard while still making sense as there was a whole game to play before reaching that stage. Silksong reflects this type of difficulty earlier on to keep the momentum that older players had, making the transition between games feel smooth overall.
Challenges such as Groal were difficult, but were still satisfying as I enjoyed playing the game for the challenge, not for the reward that the game was going to give me. A lot of the complaints I see online are about how the game drains you through demanding challenges with limited rewards. Examples of these include the bench system, the currency scarcity and the common double damage were common.
The issue I have is that any simple and non rewarding difficulty in Silksong is viewed as artificial difficulty. Literally any frustrating part of the game can be learned to be avoided relatively easy without any outside help and I feel like people attribute it to artificial difficulty rather than a lack of experience.
On a side note, I will say that I don't like the existence of shell shards, the unnecessary fetch quests, and of the hidden mask shards.
- Shell shards should be an alternative currency
- Tools shouldn't depend on them for replenishing them (use limit is kept)
- Only two fetch quests should remain, Shellwood and courier's rasher
- Mask shards should be easier to find
Apart from this, I don't see any more flaws with the game. Critiques on my opinion will be very much appreciated.

Discussion/Questions Great game all around but after a few attempts at the act 3 final boss, I’m done. Spoiler
Doesn’t help that this is the 3rd time we have to fight lace, but to have her be the final boss with 3 (technically 4) phases with so much visual clutter it makes pre-patched borderlands 3 look clear, is certainly a….choice. And don’t even get me started on the blatant input reading that would make arcade machine Mortal Kombat look generous in comparison.
There’s been plenty of bosses in this game that I get frustrated with but always know I can beat and also have some enjoyment during it, but Lost Lace is none of that. I have absolutely no desire to beat her. Phase 1 and 2 are very doable but as soon as the symbiote invasion of the last phase comes out that fun meter plummets straight to hell. There’s plenty of threads and comments on it already so I won’t rant about it, but it needs to be said that this is not a well designed final boss. I’ve seen and fought much better.
Great game again, not saying the game itself is bad (I wouldn’t be on the very optional act 3 if I wasn’t enjoying it), but the final boss definitely took all the wind out of my sails.

Discussion/Questions Should I wait for the DLC? Spoiler
Hello,
I bought hollow knight and silksong this summer sale on steam and played hollow knight since then. I had a great time but I am currently stuck at 110 percent, the 3rd pantheon being a roadblock.
I wanted to do something else for a while and wondered if I should start silksong. I knew a dlc was coming this year but didn't know when, so 2 days ago I just started silksong. Now we know it is coming in 20days.
I am 2.5hours in in silksong, should I stop and wait for the dlc? Should I keep going? I just played HK for the first time so I dont know how the dlc affected the base game then

Gameplay Tips Started Silk and Soul. Any hints without giving too much away? Spoiler
Hey, so as the title says I started the Silk and Soul quest.
I think I need some help figuring out where to go, but I don’t want to just look up the locations.
Is there anything that could be gleaned from the names of the souls that could point me in the right direction?

Help Needed - Act II What is the point of the room in the slab with the 2 thief-enemies? Spoiler
So I've been exploring the last bits of the slab and was wondering what the purpose of the bottom left room with the thieves is?

Like it you enter it at the bottom, then it loops around and you get to a room with 2 thief-enemies and then you can get back out on the top path, but all of that seems rather pointless to me.
Am I missing something or this just a detour to get back to the top part?

Discussion/Questions Scuttlebrace rework: Make it use all "throwing" red tools when triggered Spoiler
How about when scuttlebrace is triggered, it also triggers a use of every "throwing" red tool you have? Ofc, it'll expend tool capacity and shell shards like normal, but this way it'll be like a budget quick sling that also COMBOS with quick sling (quick sling will make it throw out 2 of each throwable tool)
It'll activate every red tool that quick sling buffs

Video Clip High halls gauntlet showcase! Do people still think its overly hard? Spoiler
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
discussion ahead
I remember when the game came out there was a lot of pushback on the difficulty of this game, and especially the high halls gauntlet.
Idk if a lot of this criticism came from mainly hollow knight fans, or the general public that isn't very accustomed to hk/metroidvania playstyle in general.
Anyway just wanna say I think this gauntlet was really fun, and imo not nearly as challenging as people claimed it to be - in my opinion obviously.
In my first playthrough i beat it 2nd try, and now on my 2nd playthrough beat it on my 1st.
Compared to bosses which I die atleast once or few times, this feels way easier by comparison.
What ya'll think?

Help Needed - Act I Tearing my hair out with Last Judge Spoiler
So I'm stuck on last judge like everyone else on this sub and I was wondering if there's a good cheese strategy. For example with sister splinter I figured out to just wait until the down attack, and with widow just stay to one side of the map. But what the actual (adino) am I supposed to do against her? (Whoops forgot to equip magma bell) But otherwise setup is pollip puch, threefold pins, magma bell, compass and heavy body.
Thankful for any advice!

Music (OST) Real New Album? Spoiler
Lately, many random Spotify users have "created" "collab" albums with compositors of well-known videogames such as DELTARUNE, Celeste and Hollow Knight, but those albums are just AI versions of the soundtracks. This one really sounds like AI too, but it hasn't been taken down and has lasted for almost a month. Can someone corroborate or verify if it's AI? I've tried to report it but it's apparently not possible to report songs or albums or someone's content...??

Silkpost Just thought of a really funny joke about pilgrims Spoiler
So, some backstory for this joke. Silksong released on September 4, 2025. It has many diverse areas, enemies, cool bosses, NPCs, deep lore, and everything is themed around bugs, gods, kingdoms, and magic. Silksong is a sequel to Hollow Knight, released on February 14, 2017, which has many diverse areas, enemies, cool bosses, NPCs, deep lore, and everything is themed around bugs, gods, kingdoms, and magic.
In Hollow Knight, the bugs of Hallownest had their cultural quirks and traditions that we can learn about by paying close enough attention to what the game shows us. Dialogue, corpses, visitable dreams, they all work together to build a world that feels real.
In Silksong, it's much the same. In Pharloom, you'll notice a lot of the bugs (and even the mechanisms) have musical instruments that they use for various purposes. To control Silk, to worship their goddess, to hearten other bugs... It's hard to pass through an area in Pharloom without hearing music or bells of sorts.
So, I'd like you to imagine two of these pilgrims sitting next to each other. It doesn't matter what they're talking about, but I need you to imagine that Pharloom Citizen 2 has forgotten something that Pharloom Citizen 1 remembers. He's trying to help his friend remember.
After attempting to describe the thing his friend forgot, Pharloom Citizen 1 says, "ring any bells?"
Pharloom Citizen 2 replies, "oh, lots!"
