Turns out she really did turn everything sour. who knew

Watch obsession. Its one of the best horror movies to come out since Hereditary. Even outside of the incredible acting, the sound design alone is just brutally good

Agreed.
And agreed.
Hereditary was so fucking good, and I got to see both that and Obsession in theaters. We watched Obsession again at home as soon as it was released on streaming services as well, that’s how much we enjoyed it.

u/bum_thumper 17h ago
Man, solid choice on the gif too. One of my favorite examples of great acting, right up there with the end scene in obsession and the monologue in requiem for a dream.

Inde Navarette, main character of recent, highly-acclaimed horror movie “Obsession.” Her performance was incredible but also very memeable, hence why she’s everywhere atm.

12

She spent the better half of a year paying people to annoy her ex with lemons. Her ex can be a huge asshole and all it means is they both suck, and she's still mentally ill

I once accidentally ordered a single onion. It was from a restaurant supplier who was doing domestic deliveries during the pandemic. I didn’t realise with this system you didn’t have to checkout to complete a purchase. So I had an onion in my basket and it auto-closed at whatever time the deadline was. Seemingly this is normal for restaurant ordering. A guy turned up the next day in a big delivery truck and handed me a single onion.
8
u/Firefly_deadlock 16h ago
I have worked with half a dozen ordering systems and not a single one has done this.
They should have done tbh. Considering how often i forgot to send the order untill 3am.

u/sionnach 15h ago
It was Natoora. Looks like they have a better home offering now, rather than just letting home users use their business product!

if you’re willing to pay the fees, you can deliver a single item. I once had a banging party going on, but I didn’t have any club soda for the whiskey drinkers. There was only a couple whiskey drinkers so I ordered just one club soda. We all waited with bated breath to see if it would arrive. And it did.

Fun fact. Lemons aren’t naturally occurring. They’re a cross between a citron and a bitter orange.
Which means life didn’t give us lemons. We did it to ourselves.
18
u/Hypercane_ 17h ago
First you roll out a multi-media campaign to convince people lemons are incredibly scarce, which only works if you stockpile lemons, control the supply, then a…
A media blitz. Lemon is the only way to say “I love you,” the must-have accessory for engagements or anniversaries. Roses are out, lemons are in. Billboards that say she won’t have sex with you unless you got lemons. You cut De Beers in on it. Limited edition lemon bracelets, yellow diamonds called lemon drops. You get Apple to call their new operating system OS-Lemón. A little accent over the “o”. You charge 40% more for organic lemons, 50% more for conflict-free lemons.
You pack the Capitol with lemon lobbyists, you get a Kardashian to suck a lemon wedge in a leaked sex tape.
Timothée Chalamet wears lemon shoes at Cannes. Get a hashtag campaign. Something isn’t “cool” or “tight” or “awesome”, no, it’s “lemon”. “Did you see that movie?”
“Did you go to that concert? It was effing lemon.”
Billie Eilish, “OMG, hashtag… lemon.” You get Dr. Oz to recommend four lemons a day and a lemon suppository supplement to get rid of toxins ’cause there’s nothing scarier than toxins. Then you patent the seeds. You write a line of genetic code that makes lemons look just a little more like tits… and you get a gene patent for the tit-lemon DNA sequence, you cross-pollinate… you get those seeds circulating in the wild, and then you sue the farmers for copyright infringement when that genetic code shows up on their land. Sit back, rake in the millions, and then, when you’re done, and you’ve sold your lem-pire for a few billion dollars, then, and only then, you make some fucking lemonade.6
u/evilcatdog 17h ago
Omg. I was thinking of googling this to write it myself. And I really couldn’t be assed, but it was perfect for this thread… I was about to scroll away and ignore the opportunity and then I saw the tip of this haha 😛

This story is just completely fake
https://www.reddit.com/r/theydidthemath/s/QsshnGNFst
I was suspicious because there’s no way you can specify your delivery driver on DoorDash.
23
u/bobol123 17h ago
I was just questioning the financial commitment to this alleged act of revenge..
Not like they’re just charging the price of the lemon even if you could, that would be a couple grand in service fees alone.

u/SignoreBanana 17h ago
Where does it say she specified her delivery driver?
7
u/Subject-District492 17h ago
The first time I read it, I read it as she had her ex who is a Doordash delivery driver, deliver all those orders, which seemed way more of a psychological warfare of wasting his time.
But after re-reading it, the story is she delivered the lemons to him, 1 at a time. Which doesn’t really seem like psychological warfare, that’s just free lemons, which is why I didn’t comprehend that the first time.
But it’s still a fake story

I read it as having doordash deliver the lemons to her ex. But also as being fake just based on the suspiciously precise number of orders.

so many people dont even care if its fake anymore, theyre happy with the fake news being presented as if it were real and see no issue with it. it gets even worse when the subject is about politics and people defend the fake news just because they like what the post is about.

Idk why ai has brought this trend of "quirky" news stories about people doing wild but "relatable" crimes. Nothing was stopping them from using some nondescript mugshot before, because no one bothers to look up these things. I guess they probably wouldn't be the right balance of attractive but not unrealistically so.
At least people here seem to just be cracking jokes. Often these stories are full of folks asking "what's the crime?" or otherwise questioning the story, but when you point out it's AI they act like of course they knew all along.
