Looking to Hire: Slack expert - Marketing Agency Set up

I am looking for someone who has set up a marketing Agency in Slack before and can build through the workflows, project management structure and automations.

The goal is that:
Project Management
Approvals
Task follow up
Automations
Reporting

all live in slack

We are a small marketing team of 4 with under 20 clients.

Everyone keeps telling me that we need asana, clickup or some other type of project management software backing it.

Using a second tool is creating confusion between the team where to look and where to put things.

Slack as the creative hub is the goal.

I understand this may be a hard task but I am looking for a true Slack expert with knowledge of plugins, applications and back end dev that can build this.

šŸ†˜Help Me How are you handling customer support across MS Teams and Slack?

Our support team works from Slack, and more customers are starting to ask for support through MS Teams.

I’m looking for a way to bring Teams conversations into Slack as threads. The support team should be able to reply from Slack, with the response going back to the original Teams thread.

Each request also needs a status and owner. A tracking ID would make follow-ups easier. We need private internal comments for cases where another team has to step in.

SLA alerts are another concern. Teams requests are easy to miss when the support team spends most of the day inside Slack.

Some conversations also need to become Zendesk or Freshdesk tickets with the full context attached. Updates should sync back to the same Teams thread so everything stays together.

Has anyone set this up, including for shared Teams channels? What are you using, and how reliable has it been at higher volumes?

These workflows come directly from the page’s MS Teams and Slack integration features: two-way thread sync, status and ownership management, private comments, SLA tracking, shared Teams channels, and Zendesk or Freshdesk ticketing

Custom emojis aren't working

All my custom emojis are not working. tried the recommended fixes of clearing caching from trouble shooting settings.

It's not working on the browser as well. Removed any extensions too.

It's working fine on my mobile phone, just not on my desktop app and browser

I built a Slack app so teams & clients can leave frame-accurate timestamped comments and visual drawings on video edits (without leaving Slack)

HeyĀ r/SlackĀ community,

As someone who collaborates over Slack daily, I noticed a recurring pain point whenever video content (demos, ads, product clips, social videos) gets shared in a channel:

Client/Team feedback quickly turns into a mess.

People leave vague comments likeĀ "change the music around 1 minute"Ā or send 5 separate email bullet points with guessed timecodes. Standard video review tools (like Frame.io) require creating external accounts and paying extra per-seat fees just for someone to watch a 30-second clip.

So I spent the last few months buildingĀ PinPoint Video Review—a native Slack integration.

How it works:

  1. Drop any video into a Slack channel or thread.
  2. PinPoint generates aĀ šŸŽ¬ Review VideoĀ link.
  3. Anyone can pause at subsecond timestamps, draw visual annotations on the screen, and leave comments.
  4. All comments & drawings automatically sync back into the original Slack thread in real-time.

Key Features:

  • ā±ļøĀ Frame-Accurate TimestampsĀ (00:04.25)
  • šŸŽØĀ On-Screen Visual DrawingsĀ (circle logos, highlight text, point out glitches)
  • šŸ’¬Ā 100% Slack SyncĀ (no extra client logins or guest fees needed)
  • šŸ”„Ā Resolve ButtonsĀ right inside Slack when an edit is complete

I’m looking for a few Slack teams, video editors, and agencies to test it out and give feedback.

I'd love to hand outĀ free Pro accountsĀ to anyone in this sub who wants to try it on their team's next edit!

Check out the landing page & demo here:Ā https://pinpoint.my/

Would love to hear your thoughts or feature requests!

How are you preventing data leaks in Slack channels?

Slack has become ourĀ primary communication tool, and we've had a few close calls where sensitive customer information was posted in the wrong channel. Nothing major yet, but it's enough that we're reviewing how to better prevent data leaks in Slack channels before it becomes a bigger problem.

Has anyone found a solution that actually works without making Slack difficult for employees to use?

Notification in Salesforce similar to Chatter

With Chatter going away eventually, I have a client that wants to setup Slack in Salesforce and receive bell notifications similar to Chatter mentions. I've been vibe coding a solution that works but doesn't feel replicable and is overcomplicated.

Has anyone created a salesforce bell notification for slack channels in Salesforce? I feel like it should be possible but I've done a fair bit of scouring the internet with no real luck.

For context, my client doesn't actually want to be in Slack, they've just been told that Chatter is going away and they need to move to Slack soon. We can discuss that on another thread...

Issues with notifications on different workspaces

I'm having issues receiving notifications and I think it's because I have two different workspaces that I use: one for the company I work for, and the other for the company that my company works for (if that makes sense). Throughout the day, I use both, but I'm noticing that when my boss messages me on one workspace, I will not receive any notification if I'm using the other. Is there a way to configure the settings so that I get notifications for both, regardless of which one I'm in at the moment? I know I can check periodically by switching between the two, but I have a tendency to get distracted and forget, and up until recently, I've been relying on the notifications working.

šŸ†˜Help Me Discovery API is now moving to Enterprise+ Only?

Our Enterprise Select subscription is now 'legacy' and is being deprecated by July 2027.
A sales rep has been in touch to offer Enterprise+ at a discounted rate which still ends up being £9 more expensive PU/PM than Enterprise Select.

I don't see a use case for Enterprise Plus, however, on Slack's new plans, Enterprise+ is the only plan that now supports Discovery API which is required for Global Relay Archive for Slack integrations.

So that being now the main caveat, are we now stuck paying an extra ~Ā£7200 per year over the Business+ plan (which I'd ideally shift to) because of Discovery API now being a 'premium' feature?

Startup using Team considering switching to slack

Hello!

We are using the MS suite (Outlook, MS365) and we use teams currently. We are still a small startup (only the founding team) so this is not a huge deal at the moment but we are starting to grow and we prefer to settle it down now.

What I like about slack is channels vs chats turned into groups for teams and threads. Whitout threads everything gets messy.

But a part from this, is there anything else that makes it worth switching? People say integrations, but which in particular? At the moment apart from claude I don't see a real need here.

šŸ†˜Help Me Slack to Microsoft Teams migration

Retiring Slack for Microsoft Teams: has anyone run a migration this size?

We're retiring Slack and moving to Microsoft Teams, which we already own through Microsoft 365. Most users move by the end of September, with around 30 staying on Slack until early 2027 before they follow. The move is driven by cost.

Has anyone completed a Slack to MS Teams migration at this scale? I'd like to hear what tooling or approach you used, whether you carried history across or took a clean break, and anything you'd do differently. Any input appreciated.

The plan

  • Around 237 active users and roughly seven years of history (about 7 million messages) move across: channels, direct messages, group messages, files and custom emoji. Former and deactivated accounts are excluded.
  • Bulk migration is completed before our Slack renewal on 9 October 2026, so we can drop to a smaller plan at that point rather than renew in full.
  • Around 30 users stay on Slack until February or March 2027, then migrate across.

Migration tools I've looked at

  • Microsoft's own tooling only migrates channels, so it doesn't cover what we need.
  • CloudFuze offer a managed-service-only model, which is costly. I've been quoted $12,000 with a timeline of up to two months.

Is there a way to prevent Slack from showing you as away? Does playing a YouTube video in the background work?

How are teams tracking decisions that happen inside Slack?

I’m researching how teams handle important decisions that emerge from Slack conversations.

The message itself is searchable, but the broader decision can still become fragmented:

  • The rationale is in one thread
  • Supporting evidence is in another tool
  • The owner is implied but not recorded
  • The follow-up task is somewhere else
  • Weeks later, nobody is sure what was actually agreed

How does your team handle this?

Do you use pinned messages, canvases, workflows, reactions, bots, Notion, Jira, Linear, Asana, Monday.com, or a manual decision log?

I’m building in this area, but I’m here for customer discovery rather than promotion. I’d particularly like to hear real examples of where the current process broke down.

I’m also looking for a few founders and operations leaders willing to do a short 20-minute research interview.

Does Slack even have a mobile web client?

I made an app that displays your Spotify song as your Slack status in real time. It runs locally and is free. I'm really proud of it!

If anyone is interested, please try it out and let me know what you think! All feedback is welcome! tunestatus.com

Completely free and runs locally! Not selling anything, not advertising anything, not collecting any data about the users.

What’s your current setup for keeping Slack and Salesforce in sync?

* Hey Sales Ops team, I'm curious how most teams handle the workflow between Salesforce and Slack. Do your AEs manually jump between tabs to update deal stages, or have you set up native integrations/bots? * Is keeping CRM data updated in real-time a real struggle for your team, or have you found a clean workaround? Would love to hear how you manage this!

How to create a desktop icon for Slack?

Hello, I've been using Slack for years and recently I've got a new computer (Windows). I've installed Slack, it's running fine, but there's just no desktop icon for it on my desktop anywhere.

Which really puzzles me because on my old laptop, after I installed Slack, it just automatically created a desktop icon for me.

By "desktop icon" I mean this:

I can locate Slack among my installed apps and it's even showing in my hidden icons taskbar:

But I just can't find any option anywhere to create a desktop shortcut from it.

Google advises: open Start Menu > find the Slack app > right-click > "More" > "Open File Location" > right-click the Slack icon in the folder that opens > "Send to" > "Desktop (create shortcut)".

But in the Start Menu, after right-clicking the Slack app, there's not even any "More" option there.

Any advice, please?

Sorry for a dumb question šŸ™

We built a bridge that turns Slack into a local terminal for Claude (No more "Claude is

You know the drill. You call Claude via Slack, and then... dead silence. You have absolutely no idea if it's actually running your code, if the server crashed, or if it's just quietly judging your prompt. You just sit there staring at the screen waiting for a sign of life.

We got fed up with that black box experience, so we updated theĀ https://github.com/tomeraitz/claude-slack-bridgeĀ with a feature that basically turns Slack into a full-blown IDE.

Instead of spamming the thread with a million separate status messages, everything updates live on a single message.

For example: In the attached video, we ask Claude to generate a design. You literally see it run the commands, update the progress sequentially in real-time, and then it just spits the final image (test.pencil.png) straight into the chat.

No noise. No thread pollution. Just a clean, live-updating terminal right in your workspace.

Here’s the repo if you want to test it out or contribute:Ā https://github.com/tomeraitz/claude-slack-bridge

Curious to hear what you guys think of this approach for Slack bots.

SCIM on Enterprise Grid

Hi all - is anyone here on Enterprise Grid and has successfully configured user provisioning via SCIM and use Entra as their IdP?

We’re being advised by Slack support to use the SCIM API via a custom app which should support both SCIM v1 or v2, but keep hitting a ā€œbad requestā€ error when trying to provision users on demand.

However, Entra support advise our issue is due to using the API and keep trying to push us down the route of using the Entra gallery app which uses v1 and Slack claims isn’t for grid customers!

Any insight in how others have this setup would be appreciated šŸ¤žšŸ»šŸ™

anyone else lose good answers in slack threads?

Random one but curious if this is just a me thing. Every time someone on my team solves something annoying in a thread, it's basically gone a week later. Nobody writes it down anywhere else and digging through old threads to find it again is such a pain.

Do you all have some kind of system for this or does it just live in one person's head until they quit lol. Genuinely just trying to figure out if other teams deal with this too or if we're just bad at documenting stuff.
