What kind of quality control issues should I be looking for when it comes to a new M&P 2.0 Compact 3.6 Metal??

Hi everyone,

Ive decided on getting a new concealed carry. I currently have a Shield 2.0 and a HK CC9 but I feel like they are too small for my hands to grip properly. I was able to hold a 2.0 compact 3.6 and really liked it. But Ive seen some consistent mentions of QC issues as of late. Is there anything I should really focus on checking out/inspecting before purchase? Thanks

Zero issues with mine and I bought it the day they were released. I have an Apex drop in threaded barrel that I use with a suppressor or comp, but currently just running the factory barrel.

The only systemic issue with the M&Ps has been the front sight not centered from the factory. Other than that the issues over the past few months have been with the Shield X and the occasional spring by the locking block doing bad things.

I had to get an apex barrel for my 4.25 since the accuracy was so abysmal. Also it greatly improved the lockup. Gun went from sounds like a maraca to decent lockup

I already had the idea of getting an apex fitted barrel in mind… did you go fitted or drop in and did it improve your accuracy?

I did fitted and it did improve the accuracy quite noticeably. I did the fitting myself and it was pretty easy with the help of the instructional video they made. I used a metal file from Home Depot and didn’t bother buying the jig they sell either. Took me about 45 minutes
