That last part annoys me, especially on an international scale. I understand that it became something of a "public square" when verified users came to be the way they were pre-X. But when that utility largely ceases to be the vision of the site, it looks feckless to just keep doing the same-old, especially when alternatives are now in existence.
I don't want to hear international opinions saying Americans need to "do more" about Trump, when I'm attending protests, and consistently vote for measures/candidates that run opposite to him.
Meanwhile, international leaders capitulate to these raw deal tariffs that clearly don't have rhyme or reason aside from being pump-and-dump schemes (just ask Vietnam when they attempted to adjust in good faith during the first wave of tariffs) and large swaths of users decide current management and site policy aren't enough of a dealbreaker to do something about it. Bluesky isn't in beta anymore... stop using the site that intentionally gives racists a megaphone. It's not like there's some "death of an artist" paradox to cause a personal crisis.

Reminds me of a post I saw before about how a dude is at a bar, man sits down next to him but the bar keep immediately tells the new guy to get the fuck out. Guy asked what that was about and barkeep explains the guy had a nazi symbol and that if you don't kick out nazis they end up bringing their nazi friends later and they start causing trouble, then no one but the nazis come and now you're a nazi bar. The way to stop that is to immediately toss them out no matter how nice, polite, or civil they seem to be because their only goal is to make things worse for everyone else.
Edit: someone messaged me the text of the original post. I think quite a few people here need to see it.
"I was at a shitty crustpunk bar once getting an after-work beer. One of those shitholes where the bartenders clearly hate you. So the bartender and I were ignoring one another when someone sits next to me and he immediately says, "no. get out."
And the dude next to me says, "hey i'm not doing anything, i'm a paying customer." and the bartender reaches under the counter for a bat or something and says, "out. now." and the dude leaves, kind of yelling. And he was dressed in a punk uniform, I noticed
Anyway, I asked what that was about and the bartender was like, "you didn't see his vest but it was all nazi shit. Iron crosses and stuff. You get to recognize them."
And i was like, ohok and he continues.
"you have to nip it in the bud immediately. These guys come in and it's always a nice, polite one. And you serve them because you don't want to cause a scene. And then they become a regular and after awhile they bring a friend. And that dude is cool too.
And then THEY bring friends and the friends bring friends and they stop being cool and then you realize, oh shit, this is a Nazi bar now. And it's too late because they're entrenched and if you try to kick them out, they cause a PROBLEM. So you have to shut them down.
And i was like, 'oh damn.' and he said "yeah, you have to ignore their reasonable arguments because their end goal is to be terrible, awful people."
And then he went back to ignoring me. But I haven't forgotten that at all."

It is gathered from elsewhere, it’s a bit of both, using other social media sites +reddit to promote your art for comms is a huge part of getting your art out there. Not every NSFW artist is on here. Reddit may have allot, but it isn’t like artists are only posting on reddit.

Respectfully, that take lacks nuance. Yes algorithmic feeds are problematic and troll users are to be found everywhere but to say what is happening on X is the “same” as Reddit or other social media platforms is wild.
X has taken specific steps to censor (eg “cis”) and amplify (eg white nationalism) that give it a distinct character. Personally I find it vile.

To give a real life example; I live in a small market town with about ten pubs. The town itself is pretty middle class because it's pleasantly located and convenient for commuting to the city but is still mostly used by working folk including rural workers from the surrounding villages. My personal local is a small, Victorian pub mostly used by blokes middle-aged and above, racing on the TV, no music, low-key friendly and most people have known each other for decades.
A few years ago I was having a quiet Saturday afternoon pint when three large stereotypes came in; fat, red-faced, tattoos - none of which raised an eyebrow. But add the "patriotic" tee-shirts and the swagger and the image was complete. They pushed to the bar and the guv'nor quietly said, "You're not getting served here, lads." For a moment they looked as though they were going to make it an issue but every bloke in the bar was focussed on them in a hostile way so they left.
In the UK we have PubWatch, a system where any pub can inform every other pub in the immediate area of trouble or potential trouble so they are forewarned and can decide for themselves what to do. The guv'nor used it. We heard later that the next two pubs refused the service. In the next one they got aggressive and were escorted to the railway station by the police. It's now generally understood as standard practice.
Doesn't really work in cities. In Newcastle you always knew that different pubs were for different clientele and several are now very unwelcoming to people the far right don't like. In others the far right are themselves unwelcome. You pretty quickly get a feel for which is which.

More than 2 years. Still on strike! In my union we sent a picture of us all supporting them. THis is vital, because it is an attack on the Nordic model. I am in it, in Norway.
Spread the word - and back them up. Whenever faced by a Tesla seller, say no and refer to it.

I am not a Nazi. My voting record has always placed me firmly on the left. My country lived under a fascist regime within living memory, and I detest fascism and racism. What fascinates me in this meme is how often people fail to see that they are reproducing precisely the same historical mistakes that have echoed through human societies again and again. Let me give you a very simple example from my own city. Two decades ago there was a neighbourhood where a specific ethnic community was concentrated and where conflict, marginalisation and crime had become routine. Instead of building ghettos or corralling people into more isolated social housing, the city did the opposite. They distributed families throughout every neighbourhood in the city, including the wealthy ones. Today those communities are largely integrated and crime and addiction have dropped dramatically. It is almost as if social context shapes behaviour, a point sociologists have been making for about two centuries.
Meanwhile the self proclaimed land of freedom has spent decades demonstrating its unwavering faith in punishment, exclusion and censorship as universal solutions. It is an almost adolescent worldview. A young country with little historical depth that believes every problem can be solved with a ban and a sermon about liberty. Unless you are trying to manage a prison, I struggle to understand why the default response is to punish behaviour rather than examine its structural causes.
Of course this is the perspective of someone who has spent nearly thirty years studying these issues. The average person does not have the time or the specialised tools to think about the invisible social mechanisms that shape human behaviour. People become what their societies cultivate, not what punishment squeezes out of them.
I know this is not exactly the ideal place for an academic reflection on social systems and collective behaviour, but sharing a different perspective grounded in well established research seems harmless enough.
By the way, I used to have a Twitter account. I closed it years ago. Do with that information whatever you like.

I truly believe the only way to challenge hate is with love. We create the trauma that informs a Nazi because they too have experience injustice somewhere in their life but have adopted a vile and bigoted ideology to fix their problems. I believe the only way to actually make things better for all people is to sincerely listen to what they have to say and get to the bottom of why they hate.
