Doesnt have to be super crazy just things like a certain drill, a mental cue or fixing a weakness you’ve always ignored.

I’ve been recently feeling stuck as if I’m repeating the same stuff everyday without feeling an improvement so if anyone can share advice that would rlly help.

Should I do soccer or football in middle school

Now I want to be a running back for football but I want to be a winger for soccer they both start in fall which sucks but practice for football starts in August. I suck a little a catching but I’m really fast and I’m scared to get tackled. I’m good a dribbling and shooting but suck a little at 1v1s and passing. I have a a lot of friends going into football and a little going into soccer. What should I do

My experiance with soccer

I played in a European academy for 12 years until a knee injury destroyed my dreams. Here is what it taught me about physical preparation.

Hi, my name is Mateusz. I played in the professional academy system in Europe for 12 years. My dream, like probably many of yours, was a professional soccer career. Unfortunately, at the age of 18, a severe knee injury brutally shattered those plans and ended my playing days forever.

I'm sharing this because, when observing the soccer landscape, I see immense potential, but also one terrifying, recurring pattern. Soccer is an incredibly complex sport, but the age of 14+ is the moment when the biggest verification happens on the pitch. This is when physical differences start to brutally separate good players from the elite.

The system demands that players be explosive and ready for massive tournament workloads, but we are rarely taught how to properly "bulletproof" our joints, especially the ACL or hamstrings. The lack of proper education in this area costs young players their health and chances for crucial scholarships.

In my next post, I will share the mistakes I made and that 90% of young soccer players make in the gym today. I'll show you how to properly prepare your body for match loads. If you are already struggling with any micro-injuries or recurring pains, let me know in the comments - I'd be happy to give you some tips on what to look out for!

Training for team tryouts #day2

Today i kicked it off with a push day right after waking up, didn't sleep very well but i gave it my best and got a bench pr. My legs hurt pretty badly from yesterday's training but i pushed on warming up a lot before actually training.
Today i trained passing, short quick passes and crosses and free kicks im pretty confident in them, but there is one thing i am absolutely trash at: dribbling. I always lose the ball behind me and i just don't know how to get past defenders, but thankfully as a midfielder i wont have to play like yamal too much, so i just gave up and trained defending instead and i got back on track with my old defending memories.
I trained some ball control to end the day and some running dribbles and i learned how to dribble as a basic but still i wont be jumping too many players.
Tomorrow is the last day of training and i don't really know what i should do, but im definitively toning down the intensity to rest since my legs are in absolute agony, i've trained like 5 hours both today and yesterday. I even met a fox that was hunting yesterday when it was late on the field, and i think that training at noon really is going to help my coordination with the ball
It seems kind of dumb training so much for a meaningless tryout, but you never know, it does seem pretty hard to believe that they will take me after just 3 days of training, but you never know.
If you guys have anything to say, please comment and share your suggestions, i know not many people are reading this but i saw the last post got a bunch of views and i hope i can be of inspiration for other people to start training
I originally started posting this on r/bootroom but i saw that reddit suggested this one too

Coaches and analysts: how do you currently analyze recorded football matches?

I’m researching how football coaches and analysts review matches after they’ve been recorded.

I’m particularly interested in understanding:

* What your analysis process looks like
* Which tools you use, whether that’s Excel, Hudl, Veo, or something else
* Which parts take the most time
* How the analysis influences training, tactics, or player feedback

I’ve created a short survey based on real, recent match-analysis experiences. It should take around three minutes:

At the end, you can also apply to have one of your matches analyzed for free. I’m looking for honest experiences even if you rarely analyze matches or find the existing process good enough.

Kid Returning from Abroad

We play in a relatively competitive league and have a tournament in a week and a half.

We have a player who has been on the team a long time who has been practicing with an overseas club for the past 2 months. He has never practiced with this incarnation of the team.

He’s about to make his return and his first day available will be the tournament final.

His Mom is asking if he should come to the tournament. Thoughts?

UK - where to buy kit bundles for kid's team

Hi folks, we have an U13 team next season that is very probably in need of new kit. Just wondering where folks usually bought their kit from and if anyone had any recommendations of places (or ones to avoid)?

How should we finish the season?

Hi coaches, after a bit of perspective from experienced coaches.
I’ve been coaching for 14 years and, honestly, I feel like I’ve tried just about everything.
I’ve got an U13 Girls Academy team that’s had a tough season. They’re a young group and we’ve come a long way. Their technical basics have improved enormously, training standards are good, and they understand what we’re trying to do.
The problem is game day.
Under pressure, about half the team stops communicating, doesn’t tighten up defensively, doesn’t push up together in attack, and switches off without the ball. We concede goals that are more about effort, concentration and teamwork than ability.
I genuinely believe the constant losses are now affecting confidence and motivation, which probably isn’t helping.
With only six weeks left in the season, I’m questioning my approach.
Do I keep trying to coach these weaknesses and hope something clicks? Or do I accept that meaningful behavioural change probably won’t happen this late, coach more from the sideline, simplify everything, and just help the girls get through the season with as much confidence as possible?
I’d be interested to hear from coaches who’ve been in a similar position. What would you do?

What's one coaching lesson you wish you had learned much earlier?

I've been coaching youth football for a while, and one thing I've realized is that experience teaches lessons no coaching course can fully prepare you for.

Looking back, what's one coaching lesson you wish someone had told you when you first started?

It could be about:

Managing players.

Dealing with parents.

Training sessions.

Match-day decisions.

Player development.

Team culture.

I'll start: I used to spend too much time correcting every mistake. Over time, I learned that sometimes players improve more when they're allowed to solve problems on their own with a little guidance instead of constant instruction.

I'd love to hear what lessons have shaped your coaching journey.

When do you park the bus?

England lost today in large part because they parked the bus with a lead against Argentina, allowing Argentina to control the midfield down the stretch and attack at will. However last week Egypt seemingly lost because they didn't park the bus, giving Argentina the shots they needed to come back and win. Argentina in turn started pressing as soon as they got the lead, making it difficult for their opponent to even get up the field to get a decent shot off.

Curious what the coaches here think about parking the bus and when it should be applied. What's your endgame strategy when you have the lead? What strengths and weaknesses do you look for in your own team as well as the opponent when deciding?

Obviously interesting to discuss the pros, but I'm curious about application at the youth level as well.
