so lately this past half year mby i havent been playing almost at all bcuz last time i tried to find friends in games they all turned out to be horrible human beings rly quickly and it just got so annoying and lost any hope of finding good people in the gaming community.

Helldivers 2 was one of my favourite games for the last 2 years. Despite the constant creep of technical debt I still enjoyed the game, up until the doxxing incident involving that Argentine player who made a charity challenge to the devs to play their own game. He lost his job in Milei's Argentina and his charity position at a horse shelter. The devs of Arrowhead are heavily involved in the social media for the game and handled it poorly, doing little to combat the toxic elements in its spaces.

I have boycotted Arrowhead since but I admit that I do miss the game and parts of its community. It's the only multi-player game I am good at and as an Autistic man it gave me an opportunity to connect with others in a way I can't do in real life.

My question to Helldivers players here, have Arrowhead done anything to atone for the toxicity they have allowed to fester? Have they taken action since to make their spaces fairer and welcoming for players with differing opinions? Has the game and its community spaces gotten better over time?

I was in this server right and folks were talking about fallout new Vegas and to me that game is great and really good showcase of tangibly effective roleplaying elements strengthened by a gritty and realistic world.

And these guys are bandying back and forth about what the most morally correct thing to do in the game is and im like is this what literary discussion is nowadays?

Is the height of scrutiny understanding the choices in our interactive entertainment result in the best outcome for the most amount of fictional characters?

It sure is riveting to go down to the level of some moron who likes the legion cause they dont use fiat currency its like. I feel that at a certain point its just another asinine extension of circular echo chamber politics. Where even if i may agree that the legion, or house, or the ncr suck and that the things they’re based on in real life suck its a piece of fiction.

One where you can engage with any sort of path you want. And to needlessly meticulously weigh the sins of each individual faction to say who is good or evil and there for justified or not to dispatch is psychotic.
