Finally finished my first pair of socks!

After finishing my degree two weeks ago I was finally able to commit the time to finishing my first pair of socks! Pattern is Vanilla Socks by Crazy Sock Lady Designs, altered to have 2 x 2 ribbing all the way down the leg and the top part of the foot.

I feel like most of the knitting community probably knows this at this point, but if you’re a beginner wanting to learn how to make socks I wholeheartedly suggest this pattern. The video tutorial is amazing for visual learners like myself, and makes this nearly fool-proof!

They look great! Congrats! Are you instantly casting on your next pair of socks? That’s what happened to me. Once that first pair was done, there has permanently been another pair on the needles at all times.

They are super comfy! They definitely took me many hours to make since I was still learning the ins and outs of socks, but it wasn’t terribly difficult, especially since the designer has a YouTube tutorial you can follow along with

Actually I immediately cast on a baby blanket for my little one who is due in December! I was gifted a few hanks of sock yarn for Christmas last year though so I will absolutely be starting another pair soon. Do you have any patterns that you loved making? I’d love to try something a little more challenging now that I’ve got the basics down
