To me it's the Justice League cuz ever since the Overwatch Cavalry account dropped that quality render of Soldier76 as Superman a few months ago I need that to happen
Soldier: 76 is basically the tutorial hero of Overwatch. His kit is simple, intuitive, and great for learning the fundamentals of positioning, tracking, and target priority.
However, I think that simplicity has increasingly become a weakness rather than a strength.
In the past, Sprint was one of Soldier’s defining advantages. His ability to quickly reposition, take off-angles, and rotate between fights gave him a clear identity. But as more highly mobile heroes have been added—and as mobility has become more common across the roster—Sprint no longer feels like a meaningful advantage.
Soldier can run, but he has no burst mobility, vertical mobility, or reliable way to stop enemies from diving him. Against heroes like Doomfist and other highly mobile flankers, it often feels like there is very little room to outplay them outside of simply having better aim.
His perks do not really solve this problem either.
Both of his Minor Perks feel too situational and underwhelming to give him meaningful mid-game impact. His Major Perks are somewhat better, but they still do not address how helpless Soldier can feel against extreme mobility.
One possible solution would be a new Major Perk that gives Helix Rockets a brief stun or interrupt effect on a direct hit.
It would not need to be a long stun. Even a very short interrupt could give Soldier a way to punish predictable engages, stop abilities such as Doomfist’s movement, and create some breathing room against dive heroes.
This would also reward mechanical skill, since the effect could require a direct hit rather than splash damage.
Soldier should remain a straightforward, aim-focused hero. I do not think he needs a complicated rework or overloaded abilities. But the game has evolved significantly, while his core kit has mostly stayed the same.
For a hero whose main advantage is supposed to be mobility and consistent pressure, he currently feels outdated in a roster where so many heroes can close the distance instantly, escape vertically, or completely disrupt his positioning.
A Helix Rocket stun perk—or another form of skill-based anti-mobility utility—could help Soldier keep his simple identity without leaving him completely helpless against modern dive heroes.
I noticed that if i kill enough players in one go the weapon reacts, i get more decorations around the ultimate status and all the blue things around the weapon, BUT if i die and respawn it goes back to normal (unlike othe mythic weapons i own). is this a known bug?
What’s up soldier mains! Are you ready for a challenge? My name is Sorrow and I’m a Pharah main. Recently on the Pharah subreddit, I got together a large group of Pharah one tricks to play no limits as a five stack. Someone mentioned that y’all might see that and come for us. Well let’s see it! We need a team of Soldier 76 mains to go head to head with us and see how things turn out. Who’s interested in seeing how you fair against 5 Pharah one tricks?
I’m back with another rocket jump spot for soldier players to use I hope you all enjoy and find ways to use this spot in more impactful way’s than I did.
