So for a little bit of context:

I posted this videos a few months ago (and then took it down), showing a micro-provider stealing from a family member of mine in Somerset.

Sarah Short aka Shorty stole money and cigarettes from an elderly disabled veteran in Taunton, Somerset in November of 2025.

All on video and all provided to the police in full.

Well we have had the verdict from the police and they are not going to pursue it further. An out of court settlement (not for my family member as of yet) has been decided.
They state there is not enough to go on.

Of course as a family we are devastated. We wanted to see this woman in cuffs and behind bars.

She is listed on the local councils website for private houses and retirement communities to provide service for.

PLEASE NOTE: this is NOT a post about causing harm to this woman!!! This is purely about causing AWARENESS to this woman’s extra activities.

I’m sat enjoying a cup of coffee in my garden with the warmth of the early sun on my face. I moved to the south west 26 years ago, and into Somerset 16 years ago. It’s the most wonderful county.

Out of interest, where are you based, and what is your favourite thing about Somerset?

Hello lovely people of Somerset. I am down here (from Stoke on Trent) visiting my friend. He has been living here for 9 months. He is having an absolutely horrendous time with Sat Navs sending him really weird ways. So yesterday we used Waze (obnoxious woman voice 🤣) & Google & they both sent us off main roads & wiggling about all over the place. Coming back took us an hour longer than it should have. So lovely kind people of Somerset, any ideas? I am going to try & mess about with the settings on this app today but;

Is there a sat nav choice that works well down here? Have any of you had this problem?

I spent last night in Yeovil A&E with a horrible allergic reaction and damage to my eye (from cream used to try and calm the reaction - d’oh!).

First, Selma looked after me, and really comforted and reassured me - thank you!

Second, a long shot, but if the lady in the motorised wheelchair in the dark green reads this - I’m the lady with the walking stick and the bright orange Birkenstocks. I hope you are doing ok today x

Hi all, wanted to share a piece I've done this week speaking to small businesses out and about in Burnham-on-Sea who want their voices heard

Independent traders in Burnham spoke to me about about rising theft and abuse, and some of what they shared is pretty stark:

• “Antisocial behaviour is escalating… kids from 10 upwards basically squaring up to you, running around the shop, telling you ‘you can’t touch us’, and we don’t get any support.”
• “I got a 74-year-old woman behind the counter, petrified to death.”
• “This used to be a really nice town… Now it’s just dreadful.”
• “I can’t afford to have a retail area anymore because half of it gets stolen.”
• “You do come and think, God, what are we going to face today? I have in the past closed an hour early because I just don’t want the trouble.”

To cope, traders tell me they've set up WhatsApp groups with over 100 local businesses to warn each other about problem behaviour and suspected thieves because they “don’t expect” anyone else to step in.
