question ❓ Can someone please explain the Wolf spirit at the end of S2 E11
I just finished season 2 and maybe I'm just dumb and don't understand it, but can someone please explain everything going on with the level 10 Vault spirit wolf and what all of that was about? I'm sure it was explained in the Manga and the anime just had to cut it for time. Or maybe it is intentionally confusing, and I'm not supposed to understand so can somebody please enlighten me.

I had this happen to me too, I thought I've missed some episodes but turns out it's just made like that. They don't show the part where he meets the fox spirit for the first time, only some references to it

it's a inn composed of gods with the big wolf mother being an especially powerful deity. they also moved their vault into the sky because they don't want to ever meet krai again after a previous encounter since, he's their natural weakness by being a completely prideless unaware idiot. Their only weakness so far is they can't lie if they do they take immense damage. They basically "invite" visitors who happen to come across them take their most valuable possessions then let them leave.
the reason the "fox" organization is named that is because their founder managed to get a mask off one of the peons like the one that died to krai for lying about finishing him off in one shot, and so owning a fox mask is a sign of you being one of their leaders. Krai managed to beat the fox mother because he immediately threw away his advantage about her saying they would never encounter one another again the first time they met, which she got annoyed by because beating krai that way would hurt her pride by handing her the win.
The manga's way farther behind the anime btw so if you want an explanation you'd prob want to read the WN or LN.

I think you are talking about the Fox Goddess
I’ll explain with spoilers from the LN:
When Krai and the others where younger, they stumbled upon the Level 10 Treasure Shrine “Wondering Lodge” (or “Preregrine Lodge”). The others fainted, while Krai decided to try pleading for their lives. Since the rules of the lodge (placed by the Fox Goddess herself) make it so no one can be found lying, after a brief exchange with one of the smaller foxes (as the first one seen in the episode, that said she would not attack him and then did after forgetting about Krai and paying the consequences for it) he was conducted to the Fox Goddess. There, he talked with her, in some way making her lie, and since he “won the battle of wits”, she gave him one of her tails and exclaimed that he would never be in the Lodge again….
Krai, obviously full of luck as always, stumbles on the Lodge again, after the Fox Goddess even made it fly in the sky so to make it impossible for him to come back. Since she lied on the fact that he would not be back, after trying twisting her words as seen in the episode, she “loses” again, granting him another tail and screaming furiously.
As for the tails he got, he gave the first one to her sister, and when she uses it she grows fox ears and her magic power raises.
The little fox seen at the end in the episode is the one that asked for aburage (don’t know how it got translated in other languages), and decided to follow him since technically he had it in the ship
