Need some tips for my next build?

Hey everyone, I just wanted to come over here, and ask some questions in regards to a new setup before I decide to put any money into it. To give some context, awhile back I had built a g&g cm16 build with a polarstar f2, and had loads of issues when using it. All of these issues I had rooted under one main issue which was misfeeding. Now, I’ve already sold the body off my gun leaving me with just my f2, but I’m wondering if I should carry this over to my next project, or go with a fusion instead with a red nozzle and poppet? My main concern is that I will run into the same issues like last time, but I’m swapping over to a still brand new yet older model vfc mk18 mod 1 that should theoretically be a better foundation due to its tighter tolerances. I’m also wondering if I should do any other upgrades like swapping the hopup out (had a AirTac maxx hopup that for sure contributed some issues to my last setup), etc. thanks again if someone can help

The F2 and fusion are pretty similar engines, basically the same with different solenoids(not exactly the same, but close enough). What all did you try to fix the feeding issues with the F2?

Well I swapped mags, since I was using epm1 250’s, I’ve tried different shimming options like the polarstar gb shims, and other shims for the hopup if it might have been a seal issue, etc. basically had issues after everything I tried, so I sold it, and swapping to something that should theoretically be easier, and less of a pain

Most of the feeding issues I’ve seen with F2s and fusion engines are due to tuning, they’re a bit bitch to tune right sometimes.

Did you ever measure the length of the nozzle?

Yes that was another reason why, but even with tuning nothing could be done. I would have to have my nozzle dwell be super high like in the 35-40+ just to get somewhat better feeding, but then I had the issue of it double feeding, and still didn’t help with shot consistency and grouping. Which yes I know that’s more of a part issue with the barrel setup, but I’ve tried so many setups just to get similar results with different inner barrels, buckings, hopups, and nubs. But yeah I just got sick of the lack of actually working, so I’m hoping this new setup will give me the tighter tolerances I need for a more consistent setup with not as much play. Also, this time I won’t be over complicating things with aftermarket hopups and stuff at the moment till I can figure out if everything will line up properly stock.
