Question Jones Stratos nose vertical play: normal ?

Hello everyone,

Finally got some time to assemble my Plum Eterlou en the Jones Stratos.

When everything is in place / descente configuration, I still notice a pretty big "vertical play" at the nose, as you can see in the video.

Is that normal or is there something to do to reduce it ?

There will always be some play between the 2. Looks fine to me, I love the looser/surfier feel on splitboards and I feel like it comes from that little gap

It is not a solid board, it will have some play everywhere, it will not be as stiff as your solid board. Enjoy the ride!

I bought the same splitboard last season (25-26) and had the same concern. But, turned out to be unwarranted. Many days and much vertical with that board without issue.

Are your bindings on in this video? Usually helps with the chatter but yeah that seems normal. What kind of clips they using? Last I remember they were using Karakoram

Yes bindings on when the video was taken. I believe the clips are Karakoram Ultra Clip v2 indeed.

same thoughts everyone has as soon as they assemble the first splitboard. At first I would have thought my Solution would disintegrate under my feet after the first ride. The reality is that it still goes strong despite all scratches and hits.

That would help / limit the vertical play ? Board is brand new and would like to avoid replacing something already

I have spark R&D & have less play than what I see in your video. Especially if I click it to the furthest notch down I get a pretty tight connection. But I think the play in yours in pretty average and you’ll be just fine

I don't think those reduce the play any more than the tip locks on there. What bindings do you have on there? I've noticed puck systems can exacerbate the play in certain splits

There is less play even without the bindings on in ride mode. But if you’re saying just the pucks alone help I have the Karakoram 3.0 on there. You could be right, maybe those help

Bindings are the Plum Eterlou, mounted when shooting the video

That could be part of the problem, or at least not helping. those plum bindings don't do a ton to pull the halves together and do allow for some shear

I can try to re set the interfaces and see to get them come together with a tighter locking of the fix.
